The tween concept started with marketing. It’s a concept that was created to make money. |
| I don’t consider my 9 year old a tween. I’d say more like 11-12. |
| 5th and 6th grade |
Great point that I hadn't thought of. |
My 11 year old DD does not act like a little kid any more, but she's not really a teen yet either. I think tween is a very good way to describe the in-between years |
| 10-12 is tween to me |
23-19 is a young adult. Expect more from your college aged kid and they will act like adults. 13-18 teen 11-12 tween |
| My 11yo is definitely a tween. I think he was just a kid at 10. |
| Tween is 11 and 12. |
| Some of my kids were tweens at 9/10, the others not until 11/12. At 11, I still played with dolls. |
| What exactly is a tween though? Are they not kids or do kid things anymore? Do they play? Because even after I started a puberty I'm seeing that I was still a kid alot longer than some. |
|
10-12. Middle school age.
not elementary school age |
| I always thought kid 10-12 are way too young for middle school. |
In the areas where middle school starts in 6th grade the kids are generally 11 or just turned 12 when they start 6th grade. |
I know I startediddle school in 6th grade at 11. I thought it was too young then. I know areas where middle school starts even younger in 5th grade. |
