Thank you. My Jewish daughter is a student at Whitman. It’s awful.

They don't give a shit. This has happened before at Whitman.

UGH it's only going to get worse. Republicans are going to continue this utter crap for a long time. Clearly they stand with Space Lazer MTG and Nick Fuentes so their subjects are spewing and getting more emboldened by the day. Given so called "regular" Republicans don't give a shit it will get worse.

And my orthodox family and so called friends they will come for you too.

If they haven't caught the person who did this how do they know they were Republicans?

Yep it’s a direct reaction to the one Whitman program. The students are really sick of one Whitman btw.

Really? So this is somehow an acceptable form of protest to one whitman programming? Fellow Whitman (jewish) parent here and that’s just gross. Sorry that your kids are sick of learning about tolerance, inclusion and diversity. Geez. I hope our kids are not friends.

These things always happen at the same schools because diversity is an abstract concept there. I'd hoped updating the boundaries after 40+ years would eliminate the gerrymandered boundaries that create this climate but not going to hold my breath.

What on earth is wrong with a school program designed to discuss antisemitism? Like why would kids be sick of it? I remember doing similar programs in HS 25 years ago and we all seemed to understand the seriousness of it and appreciated getting the context around the Holocaust and the larger history of antisemitism. I'm not Jewish but I consider that education important to my understanding of the world. Why would kids be "sick of it"? It makes no sense.

I suspect it is either a couple disturbed people or someone coming in from outside the community trying to stir up trouble. I wish they’d catch the person or people as I feel like this is probably a warning sign of someone who is disturbed and will go on to more dangerous behavior like a shooting incident or hate crime.

I wish people would stop downplaying the amount of antisemitism that has reared its ugly head here in Montgomery County. Having grown up here, I can tell you that I don't remember these types of incidents with any regularity. In fact, growing up Jewish in Montgomery County was pretty comfortable since we have a large Jewish population. What's going on today is becoming alarming. Just a few weeks ago I believe someone painted gallows and swastika's on the Bethesda Trolley trail. They have found swastika's at Montgomery Mall in the past week. My sister even received a very odd mailing at her Bethesda home with twisted facts about Jews recently. No doubt whoever is doing these things is disturbed but it seems to also be representative of something in our culture that people want to normalize these incidents. They aren't normal, they are very scary and we could be going down a very slippery and dangerous slope.

This is some insane troll logic. "Kids are fed up with DEI work so instead of teaching them why spray painting the school with anti senetic messages is wrong we should give them a cookie and tell them good job"

This. I really wish people (who have kids at Whitman) would stop taking it as a personal affront. We're not blaming you. Stuff like this unfortunately happens. Lets work as a community to stop it.

We've seen incidents like this in MoCo for the past year or two -- definitely on the rise. However, has anything risen up past graffiti? That's all I can recall (thankfully).

It’s students from the school. They always are identified. It just takes a few days. By noon on Monday half the school will know who did it.
