Then eat more than one egg. Duh. |
It’s also safe to eat crickets and I think that’s gross, too. |
They are always more watery imo. I prefer to strain the egg whites myself for better texture when they’re scrambled. But if you’re drinking egg whites, you want the carton. Not only are they pasteurized but they blend into smoothies and protein shakes better. |
I use the carton egg whites to add some protein to oatmeal. The yolk doesn’t taste as good in oatmeal and if you buy the carton you don’t waste the yolk. |
Have you never eaten scrambled eggs or an omelette in a restaurant before? |
Silly comment. Each egg has about ~3 grams of protein. You don’t want to eat 7-10 eggs with yolks. So you (wait for it) use egg white in addition to 1-2 eggs. |
No, an egg has 6 grams of protein. All the protein is on the whites. A box of whites is extremely cost effective. Dozen eggs is $4-6. For best taste, use 1 whole egg and a few table spoons of carton whites. |
Agree that is way more cost effective to buy egg whites in a carton if you can get them in bulk at Costco. I buy a pack of 6 for about $9-10. It has the equivalent of 6 dozen egg whites. Since I use them so much and the carton ones are so versatile (you can use the raw in a smoothie or for icing, add to oatmeal, etc.), it just makes more sense than paying $5 for a dozen eggs and separating. Plus you can only do so much with extra egg yolk. I usually end up wasting them |
