This PP here. We received an email yesterday, 11/29. |
I'm the pp, and what I was saying is that there are different routes. My kid is also getting tutoring for an advanced subject, AP Chem. She has done far better looking through a list of tutors that she can find through her request than I have with them contacting me. She can view bios and schedules, so maybe someone isn't available in our ideal time, but they have some availability, and we just make it work on our end. We got a better tutor assigned through the parent email, but my daughter prefers the one she found. |
We were only offered and undergraduate college student for AP Calculus. After trying, it didn’t help my child. For children who struggled during online learning, an online tutor is not the best format. My child specifically has trouble with the format because of his disabilities. We found a in person tutor for twice a week which was more helpful. |
You can always request a different tutor. We have. And, you can have as much time as you want. There is no limit. |
Have you actually tried it or are you just slamming it without trying it? |
| I emailed multiple times, I called and left voice messages multiple times. I am giving up. |
| 09:13 here. Have you all tried having student search through their account? They can look through tutors and see bios and availability and just book directly. No waiting for assignment. May even be a different pool. The tutors we were assigned were not the ones on list my daughter had. She prefers the one she found to the ones we were assigned. Good luck! |
I haven’t but I will for other tutors. Thanks for posting that. |
| Tutor Me one so far so good. My daughter prefers to the Varsity Tutor we had for this subject ($) |
But you have to have a login account created by TutorMe, right? They don't get back to us, ever, so I guess this doesn't work for us. |
I fill out their google form and email them to request tutors. Some we've gotten, some we haven't. I haven't tried to log on through MCPS but I think this poster is correct you can use tutors on demand from them as well. |
One of the ones we were assigned by mcps also tutors for Varsity. |
I'm not sure. My daughter did the initial request. I don't know if she had to be approved for any special login. My email must have been connected to her account because they then emailed me to arrange a tutor when I had not been involved in the request! We tried both ways. She likes the one she picked, but that tutor isn't always available in our ideal time, so it's nice my dd can see the tutor's schedule and request based on what is available. I can double check with my kid on how it worked from her end. |

PP here again. So my kid says she clicked on something on her chromebook called Clever, and it was in there. She said the folder or wherever it is comes up when either the chromebook or mymcps is launched (I'm a real hands on mom here -- not -- sorry)!
She said she can get to the bios and schedules and book a tutor directly through Clever, and there is no special login. Hope this helps! |
| Our experience has been amazing with Tutor Me Education. Much better than FEV or Varsity when we hired privately at redicilous rates. The tutor is a special education credentialed teacher! |
