How much B12 supplement do you take, if you take it?

I'm not vegetarian anymore but got bloodwork done recently that indicated I might have pernicious anemia. My doctor told me to take B12, so I did (500 mg, 20,000% of daily need). The amount of acne I developed was staggering. It turns out that while most people exude excess B vitamins through urine, I do so through my pores. Same thing happened when I took prenatals with tons of biotin.

So now I take one of the B12 pills a week. My skin is still recovering but I did feel a bit better taking them, so hopefully this doesn't exacerbate it any further...

I have an ancestor who commit suicide from the mental health complications of pernicious anemia and almost all of his descendants seem to suffer from various vitamin malabsorption/metabolism issues. If I miss more than a day I begin to notice my anxiety, usually unnoticeable, becomes unmanageable.

Can you share what you take, specifically?

My Kind Organics. I tried the Mary Ruth’s but didn’t care for the flavor. My siblings get the B12 injections from their doctors but this is working for me so far. (For the my other official vitamin deficiencies I take whatever OTC supplements; only my B12 needs are so fussy)
