Oh please. Wilder has been used as a first name for literally centuries and you people act like is the same thing as naming your kid “slower”.

I like Wiley as its own first name, cute

I don't think it's pretentious I just think it's cheesy.

Very Utah mom blogger dressing the kid only in neutrals.

It's a lot to live up to!

Why not lean into it even more and go with Wildest?

I know a "Wilder" and it's a dumb name on him and completely out of character for his family - so it must have been a family name ? he's in college now.

I feel bad for him. He's more of a James or a Pete or a Lou.

But hey - maybe it's the main thing people remember about him. Maybe it's the only thing people remember about him- certainly is for me.

Good luck!

We chose a traditional ethnic name that's known as a real name but nobody knows anybody else by this name so it's a bit unique and so far it's worked (DC is the same age as Wilder - that's how I know this family)

BS. It's been a surname for centuries, and then actors started using it and now others thing they're cool for giving it to their kids. It's stupid.

What a dumb name.

Right up there with Archer, Jagger, Phoenix, and all of those Real Housewives from Nowhere kind of names.

Awful. Especially for a girl.

You know this is easily googled. So maybe don’t think you’re so right, when you are very obviously wrong.

Will-dur (rhymes with Wilbur) and call him Will.

I hope you choose this name and that it causes confusion and mispronunciations.

I think it's trashy if I'm being honest. Like it would be a name from Honey Boo Boo.

We met kids at the last year- two boys Wilder and Wolfey

I think you have to be careful with this name. What if the child decides to live up to it?

I guess , but if I went with Noah I wouldn't think he'd have increased odds of building boats.

Maybe not but he could have brought stray animals home two at a time.

It is not a good name for a human. Do you want them to be "wild?" There are so many good names out there...please use them!
