Really nice mint chocolates?

I love chocolate and mint together. I don’t think I’d be a fan of those frangos, though, because I idslike the fake taste of sprinkles, nonpareils, etc.

How have I never heard of this compny frangos, though?! I am from the east coast - are these candies more popular in the midwest (based on the posters’ responses).

No, I see them every year at Macy’s at Tysons corner.

Yes, originally they were made exclusively for Marshall Fields. When Macys bought out many department stores nationwide, they acquired Marshall Fields and started selling Frangos in their stores. The old Marshall Fields on State St in downtown Chicago had a huge candy section in the basement.

Close, but they were originally made for Frederick & Nelson’s, a Seattle department store—hence the name (Frangos). It was then licensed by Marshall Fields, and then bought by Macy’s. Always delicious!

Another Seattleite here - going to order Frangos now! They are the best.

I'll be the crank and say I find Frango's to be very artificial tasting. I don't get the appeal. Anyone remember After 8 mints? I loved those and am going to order some from Amazon for Thanksgiving nostalgia.

Oh, fellow Seattleites, how I wish we could hang out together and eat our Frangos. I have such fond memories of going to Freddie’s downtown with my grandma, who loved to shop. I’ll definitely buy a carton very soon.

+1. You can order directly from the Lindt site, pick your types of mint. Very fresh.

Thanks for the history. I didn’t know where the name came from.

I love both Frangos and Fannie May - I’m a Chicago girl through and through!

Me too!
