Was it the Christmas ghost one? I didn't think I'd like it, but it got me.

It's the Christmas Bedtime Stories one. The one the poster above said had a twist at the end that was soooooooooooo bad.

Damn it, I'm just going to spoil it.

I kinda felt bad for her fiance. Whatever happened to him? How awkward for his best friend/fiancee's supposedly dead husband to come back. And the fact that he came back! You mean to tell me he was MIA for three years in deplorable conditions but he still comes home in army fatigues without ANY psychological damage? How did he know his daughter and wife were at the dance? I thought it was going to be his ghost telling her it's okay to marry Pierce but no. He falls back into the family life like nothing ever happened. Once again - where is all the psychological damage? She can easily welcome him back in the home without any getting readjusted to everyone problems?

They should have done the movie without her getting engaged again. Make it so she doesn't even want to date anymore. But poor Pierce.

Yes, very bad twist at the end but damn it, but I was in tears. Tears were in my eyes as I was thinking how bad this twist is.

Like, come on, at least have the dude who's been MIA for three years grow out a scrappy beard or something! It's like a Christmas movie I watched a few years ago, where it was supposed to span 5 years, but the young kids stayed the SAME AGE the entire time. I felt bad for the other guy too. When they broke up before the father/daughter dance, the writing was on the wall for the twist though.

We Wish You a Married Christmas - okay, but not great. Kind of forgettable.
A Kismet Christmas - so bad. SKIP!
Jolly Good Christmas - decent, and actually filmed in London. Lead is British, but they made him use an American accent, and it is... something.
Ghosts of Christmas Always - leads had great chemistry, and it was a decent twist on a Christmas Carol.
Christmas Bedtime Stories - the twist at the end is soooooooooooo bad.

I started Jolly Good Christmas as my second Hallmark Christmas movie based on your review. Any movie that starts with Paul McCartney's "Simply Wonderful Christmastime" has to be a winner in my book! Thanks for the recommendation - I'll do Ghosts of Christmas Always next.

Ah, man. I like the lead in the Bedtime Stories one, but I have no interest in watching it. I hate when Hallmark does that to the fiancé. It's one thing when the fiancé is a jerk, but it doesn't sound like this is the case. Ugh.

Sorry, I am dumb. Where can I watch the two mentioned above? I don’t have Hallmark channel?

New movie alert: Not on Hallmark, but there's a new Christmas romance movie on CBS on Sunday, Dec. 18, "When Christmas Was Young." The lead is Karen David, whom I love -- she is a fantastic singer and such a sweet, strong presence, and this movie sounds like it's ripe for some songs! (You might know Karen David from "Once Upon a Time," "Fear The Walking Dead" or the divine musical sitcom "Galavant.") CBS's summary-- “The story follows a headstrong music manager in desperate need of a hit song for his last remaining client, who finds himself falling for a gifted singer-songwriter with abandoned dreams of making it big, as he attempts to secure the rights to a Christmas song she wrote years ago.” Looking forward to it. Love things when they're set in the sort of meta worlds of music, TV/film, theaters.

Apparently Hallmark movies will stream on Peacock starting tomorrow. Not sure how soon they'll be added after their original airing. You could also sign up for frndly, which seems to be the cheapest streaming option that catches all the Christmas Movie networks (all varieties of Hallmark, Lifetime, UP, Great American Family... everything but ION) for $7 a month.

I think the male lead is Tyler Hilton from One Tree Hill.

I like CBS Christmas movies, because they only make a few, and the production quality is a lot better than most of the Hallmark/Lifetime fare. I liked A Christmas Proposal last year. The same guy who wrote that one and A Kiss Before Christmas (the Terri Hatcher/James Denton movie last year that was also delightful) has Must Love Christmas for CBS this year, and I'm looking forward to that one too.

You have to watch it. Then you need to come back so we can further discuss the incredibly bad twist at the end.

OK, fine. I won't delete it.

I used to love Hallmark Christmas movies and watched a ton of them every year. But I think I'm tiring of them. Now that Netflix and others are making them, there are slightly higher quality ones out there. I'm excited for the Lindsay Lohan one on Netflix.

I agree with all these assessments.

I called the twist in the Christmas Bedtime Stories movie so early on. I could just tell where it was headed...

Mine too! Woo hoo. And I'm "allowed" to watch now that Halloween is gone.

Can't wait for the Big City Exec to be detailed back to his small home town, U.S.A., where he meets the local bakery owner. Sparks fly before a Big Misunderstanding. Then, the reunion 'neath a gently falling Christmas Eve snow, in front of perfect Christmas lights. LOL.

Just here to confirm what PP says -- This morning a new tile for Hallmark has appeared on my Peacock screen. Haven't checked it all out but a quick glance shows a LOT of holiday movies there.

I spotted a limited time deal as of today. Peacock for $4.99/month with ads, and I think 9.99 for premium without ads--and you can cancel any time, so you could go on and binge a lot in a month. I like Peacock. It was glitchy at first but now is better streaming quality than our Netflix is. Lots of shows on there, especiallly NBC/Universal but others too.
