This is a perfect example. Now: I am going to speak for all Muslims and say Muslims are pro beheading “infidels” and pro throwing gay men off buildings to their (undeserved and horrific) deaths.

Just stop speaking for people you don’t know, and assuming everyone is the worst caricature of their religion.

pp, you don’t even know what my religion is.

Tell me what my religion is and my beliefs are, please, because you are so comfortable and confident in speaking for me and telling me who and what I believe and support.

As soon as you can admit the leaders of your religion, no matter what it is, are using it for political gain, and do horrific things to people like Muslims do to gay people and women in the name of the religion we will all be better off. Unless you are in a cult, you have the right to speak against the leaders of your church when they do horrible things … if you don’t you are helping your religion become a cult.

So, ALL religions are used by their leaders for political gain?

And ALL religions do horrific things to people?

ALL religions hurt women and children and gay people in the name of religion?

And religious people who don’t admit that are cult members?

Are you kidding?

I never said all.

If the shoe fits, if not your panties would’ve be in a bunch.

“As soon as you can admit the leaders of your religion, no matter what it is, are using it for political gain, and do horrific things to people like Muslims do to gay people and women in the name of the religion we will all be better off.”

This sounds like you are speaking for all people in all religions. It is a bigoted and awful statement that speaks to every person and every religion.

Unless you are in a cult, you have the right to speak against the leaders of your church when they do horrible things … if you don’t you are helping your religion become a cult.

If a religious leader does terrible things, they are or should be arrested and/or relieved of their duties, posts, appointments, etc. Yes, I am happy to add my voice should that happen. But don’t call all religious people “cult members” because you don’t like ALL religion. You are a bigoted and an anti-religious poster who should not be allowed to leave such bigoted and awful comments about religious people and religion.

If a religious leader does terrible things and are not arrested and convicted due to their political contributions, money, connections and you still support them you are part of the problem.

If you silently let your religion do horrible thing because if you speak up you will be ostracized you are part of a cult (if you don’t realize they I’m sad for you).

If your religion has no political affiliations, never does horrible things, treats POC /lgbt/women as equals maybe the comments are not directed at “you”, if “your” religion does treat people respectfully… aka BLM, women equally in leadership roles, lgbt Marry, move on, comments are not directed at “you”.

You are welcome to speak for yourself and/or your non-belief, but don’t use the voice of a Christian, Catholic, Muslim, Jewish person, etc, and speak for them while doing so. You don’t have the right to do that.

“But if can't force my religion on others, then that's a violation of my religious freedom. Basically if my god tells me to do it, i have a right to do it. That's why the Supreme Court said the football coach has a constitutional right to pray with his team in the middle of a high school football game. 😇“

This is a quoted comment and link to illustrate what I am talking about.

Christians don’t post smarmy emojis and lament they have a right to force anyone to pray or be religious. This is a poster who hates religion (Christianity specifically) and is pretending to be Christian and speak as if they are all for oppression and subjugation of those who aren’t Christian.

Speak for yourself and don’t put words in an anyone’s mouth.

Yes you have the “constitutional right” to treat people like sh!t in the name of “religion” and we have the constitutional right to call it out as bigoted.

Nobody I know treats people like shit because of religious views, religion, etc. How did the “constitution” get dragged into your mania?

Clearly it’s because the OP wants the moderator to delete posts that she doesn’t agree with.

OP, get over it. You support Christianity, and a lot of people think you’re part of the problem because of it.

You talk about the Supreme Court and you wonder how the constitution came into the conversation?

Also even dim witted Bk said that students will feel pressured to pray in order to get playing time. But who’s gonna pay his gambling debts if he doesn’t vote the right way?

DP. You exemplify the problem. Your post generalizes about all members of a religion. You clearly hate that religion. Those two qualities make you a bigot. Whether or not you were the poster impersonating a Christian I don’t know and don’t care, but the impersonation was as childish as the emojis in that post.

There are two drooling bigots who make it impossible to have adult conversations on the Religion forum. Frankly I’d be happy to see the backside of them. That would leave several atheists who disagree with faith on various different grounds, but who are capable of having mature, thoughtful, unbigotted conversations about it.
