So all those times we heard slurred speech, it wasn't him drunk, it was him drugged up on Ambien.

Honestly, his story is like so many other celebs who have died... tons of people around him who could have gotten him help, but didn't because they were making $$$ off him.

Honestly I don't think it's just that they profited from him. Nobody, absolutely nobody can force an addict to get help. They may have spoken with him. Sure they could have fired him or given him an ultimatum and he might have sued. Vindictive narcissistic addicts are the worst because they will ruin YOUR life before they get help. They will threaten you. They will hire lawyers. This way more complex then a bunch of people enabling him to profit. Even his wife and Sarah admit he was highly vindictive and narcissistic.

My mother is like him. She made my life a living hell for trying to get help. My siblings who went along with her are showered with handouts and kindness. She still tries to undermine me even as former sycophants are running away from her. Nobody wants to poke a hornet's nest.

I agree. I have a family member that was receiving random scripts from a shady doctor like Kane’s and it was a long road to get that person help. Thankfully the doctor was convicted, lost his license, and is in jail.

I think they did a very good job of presenting their opinion and experience without making it just a Kane bashing interview.

I think they did a nice job - agree Sarah is a crappy interviewer but I think they’ve shared key parts of the story in a fairly tasteful way. I feel so bad for their kids having to grow up with all of that chaos, I hope things are more stable for them going forward.

This. They made it about a mentally ill man and Natasha owned her addiction. Yes, they made it clear he was abusive, but they painted a picture of a man who could not experience joy himself and was trapped in a brain that misfired. I do think Natasha made a mistake mentioning wanting to sue the psychiatrist. Some people absolutely refuse therapy and you can only medicate them. They abuse those medications and lie like a rug for the psychiatrist. It's a lot more complicated than she makes it out to be and I think she is looking for a scapegoat and possibly a money source by even making that mention (possibly seeing a lawyer contacts her and will take it on).

Editing on this podcast needs a major overhaul. The ad that was plopped in the middle of Natasha speaking was poor timing and a terrible advertisement given the subject. And the end with the music starting while they are still talking and all the sudden they just stop.

I thought she was pretty honest and aired her own dirty laundry, which she didn't have to do. It broke my heart when she acknowledged a period of time where her little girls weren't safe anywhere, with both parents suffering from addiction issues.

It sounds like part 2 is going to cover Peter's downward spiral before death. I wonder what kind of relationship she has with his family and if they knew she was sharing this. I think I remember reading that his sister was executor of his estate, so presumably she has some ongoing connection to Natalie and the girls.

Agree with all that the editing on this show is horrible! I was listening while taking a walk earlier and thought I'd accidently skipped ahead when Sarah's chipper sex ad started a half millisecond after Natalie was sharing her trauma. Then at the end it was all "rock the casbah" while the audio faded. No ending, no invitation to come back from part 2. Sarah needs a producer and an audio editor.

Yes! There was no segue into the cheery ad regarding the sex toy. I was very confused for a second.

Excited to listen to it. I really loved The Kane show when it was the Sarah and Samy days. I still listened when IJ and Danni joined, but it went downhill fast with them. I wish nothing but the best for Natasha and the girls, and their brother. Also I'm always rooting for Sarah, and loved when she and Samy podcasted together a few years ago - such a good dynamic. As for Danni, IJ, Rose, and RileyCouture... they all seem like opportunists and all very unlikeable.

There’s a trend with interviews being more casual so the person feels comfortable- Bobby Bones is a pro at this. You really have to be skilled though to make it work. Sarah needs to practice this technique more and make an outline to help steer the conversation.

This.

She does better with some people she interviews. Sometimes I think she forgets that not all of her audience is as familiar with the interviewee as she is. I think that was her big fail on this interview.

I have a friend who listens to her podcast weekly because she's a big fan of the TLC shows like 90 day fiance and Sarah has lots of interviews with those people. She, however, has no idea who Kane or Natasha is outside of Kane being a past coworker/boss for Sarah. She was confused listening to this one. I've tried to listen to a few of Sarah's other podcasts on the TLC people & I have to cut them off because I Have no idea who they are and she doesn't do a good job of introducing them.
