Being thin and beautiful take work |
Sadly for those of us dealing with autoimmune issues or various other health challenges, controlling our diets in this sort of way is often imperative to stay functional. Not a weight issue but a health issue. |
I think you need to live a little. Not being at an ideal/thin weight is not the worst thing in the world. Relax and enjoy more than oat milk and a handful of pretzels as your indulgences. |
+2. I have IBD and I've been on an anti-inflammatory, low carb, no sugar, whole foods diet for ages for health reasons and as a bonus, my body and skin are fabulous, even now in my late 40s. Sugar and white carbs age you tremendously. OP, your oat milk is a sugar and carb bomb. Replace it with A2 grass fed cream. I get mine from Mom's (Origins brand). |
Start lifting weights, start fasting starting at 7pm going at least 14 hours before breaking your fast, cut out all alcohol and sugar. Start with that and report back in 2-3 weeks please ![]() |
+1. And she's STILL not skinny? There's no hope for me |
Thin and beautiful aren't synonyms. If you have to work THAT hard to be thin, how is it worth it? |
Strength training is what will move the needle, not depriving yourself further with your already limited diet. In early 50's, put on weight in mid-to-late 40s, and it would not budge until I slowed down a bit on the cardio and added serious weight lifting to my exercise routine. You've already cut carbs to a major extent, so you need more muscle. |
Are you positive that this is how you eat? I find it hard to believe you never go to a party and have more tHan your 1-2 gimlets a week. Never have birthday cake? Go for brunch? Order pizza? Whenever people describe diets like this i find a hard time believing them. |
Bodies aren’t meant to stay the same size through our entire life. They’re just not. We used to accept this as a fact of life. |
Agree early 40s is too early to just give up and accept weight gain. |
I am not the PP but I am pretty strict with my diet. I just end up feeling terrible if I deviate much, so no I don’t eat birthday cake, and I don’t eat pizza when I order it for my kids. If I meet friends for brunch I generally limit to one drink since I’m driving. I scope out the menu for a salad or veggie side I can order. It’s extra work, but necessary for those of us with auto immune or other issues. |
+1 I get really sick and get eczema if I deviate. Some of us really are pretty restricted. |
I don’t think your weight gain has to do with this diet. It doesn’t sound like could eat any healthier than what you are already doing. |
