Recurrent UTI infections

Rule out all of the above. I went through a period during peri with recurrent uti’s - it was from hormonal imbalances that triggered dryness etc. Sex aggravated it. One thing as well and sorry for tmi - it helps to pee and wash down there immediately after intercourse.

NP and I’ve been following the Uqora regimen for about 4 months now. No recurrent UTIs since.

I bought the drink powder and the 2 supplements. Now do a subscription and get monthly shipments.

Happy to give you more details and I promise I’m not a shill.

Found the company via Google search when I was on sick leave for a UTI.

Anecdata: I had a severe kidney infection as a very young girl-about 6. I had recurrent UTIs on my 20s and 30s. Reprieve in my 40s until I hit menopause at 48.

PP quoted and also I notice if I eat too much sugar, I get a UTI. No holding in your urine - go as often as you can.

This sounds like me at 44. My mom has it too and we’ve been told it’s likely anatomy related. For me a bidet makes the biggest difference. Working from home has really helped with that.

I haven't had one since I started drinking organic cranberry juice (no sugar) years ago. I put it in my water several times a week.

Buy frozen cranberries and just boil them in water and drink the water.

Also double flush if you use a bathroom in a public place. Flush the toilet before you use it (and again after obviously). I heard this on the radio 20 years ago.

This is 100% useless in preventing UTI, whoever said it on the radio was an idiot. It’s merely a pointless way to waste a finite resource.

NP here who is going through the same thing. I get one every other month or so. I might finally be cracking the case though...sorta, maybe. I take a medication, buprenorphine, that is VERY dehydrating. My mouth is so dry when I wake up that I can't even feel water on my tongue at first. One day I was googling about my medication and saw a reference to "urinary tract issues." My two most recent UTIs both started the morning after I had had a couple beers and done a lot of sweating at outdoor events. So for me, there definitely seems to be a connection to dehydration. I'm now weaning myself off my medication in the hope that that will help with my battle to stay hydrated.

At the end of my rope here...
Do berry teas actually work? (the internet says zero evidence..)
Thanks to anyone who has advice.

Well, you need to see a urologist- forget teas, they may need to scope you. Also, depending on your age: you may need a prescription of topical estrace (estrogen hormone) to place a small amount around your urethra- those tissues thin and atrophy with menopause as well making you more susceptible to UTIS.

Second D-Mannose for prevention. Get the powder form and mix it with water. I get UTIs from sex so I take it before and after sex.

D mannose was life changing for me. I had 4 UTIs in one year when I was using a diaphragm. My doc wanted me on a daily antibiotic for “prevention.” I was like, nope. Read the reviews on Amazon for Now foods D Mannose and decided to give it a go. 10 years ago and I’ve only had one UTI. I wash before and after sex, and pee immediately and take two capsules after sex and I’m good.
