Lindsey Graham to introduce federal abortion ban

Surprising.

Usually Lindsay has a knack for feeling political winds. It appears he's very much going against the wind here.

I don't see that this proposition advances anyone's positions on abortion.

I dunno. This feels like virtue signaling to me. Kind of like the effort to get rid of the ACA.

This is a gimmick. Republicans have realized that the majority of Americans are opposed to total abortion bans and the Republicans want to paint themselves as the rational ones here by banning them after 15 weeks- and they will then make outlandish claims that all democrats want people to get abortions on demand up until the moment of delivery.

Republicans: let's introduce legislation that has broad popular support
Democrats: that's a gimmick!

“Broad popular support”? “Lol,” indeed.

I know you know this, but it was never about states’ rights, it was about putting women in their place and establishing the christofascist state.

Yeah, not right now, it doesn't. And there is a big difference between legislation that protects a woman's right to choose up to 15 weeks, and legislation that prohibits abortion after 15 weeks.

A 15-week ban does not have broad popular support, but it’s very Republican of you to assume facts not in evidence and think most people agree with you when they don’t.

That’s from April. This is the same poll from this past week and 57% oppose a 15-week ban. Did you just not see this when it was already posted in this very short thread?

Turns out public opinion has shifted quite a bit once everyone saw the real world effects of the GOP's dreamworld.

they said the moment after roe was overturned that they will go for a ban nationwide if they take back congress

they never have cared about the states rights part of this

and for a closeted old white guy to propose this? not to mention that he should be in JAIL many times over for election interference

I hate him and his ilk with every inch of my being
Anonymous
Well Lindsey is never going to get pregnant nor impregnate anyway so I guess he doesn't care about the real world consequences.
