| Republicans are all for the enslavement of women. |
|
This is a gimmick. Republicans have realized that the majority of Americans are opposed to total abortion bans and the Republicans want to paint themselves as the rational ones here by banning them after 15 weeks- and they will then make outlandish claims that all democrats want people to get abortions on demand up until the moment of delivery. |
|
I feel like this is the worst possible move for a Republican. On the one hand, why in the world would they touch this with a 15 foot pole right now, given the political climate? On the other, it won't even make the forced birthers happy since it's 15 weeks, not a total ban.

| Please do! Blue wave will follow. |
| Didn't take long to cast aside that whole states' rights thing. |
| Is he introducing this so the "moderate" Rs can oppose it, thereby coming across as sane? Because why would they want to bring up a losing cause? |
Yep, they’re not even pretending to not be fascists anymore. Brown shirts and goose stepping here we come. |
I thought he was all for states rights..Guess not. |
|
Surprising. Usually Lindsay has a knack for feeling political winds. It appears he's very much going against the wind here. I don't see that this proposition advances anyone's positions on abortion. |
He’s only for states rights when the states are doing the “right” thing. Just like their support for democracy only extends to electing the “right” people. It’s authoritarianism cloaked in pseudo-intellectual federalist trappings. |
| It’s really gross for a male who has never reproduced or even had a longtime female partner to lead the way on legislation that restricts women’s reproductive rights. |
Yes. I hope we can all point that out on social media and the general media. |
Republicans: let's introduce legislation that has broad popular support Democrats: that's a gimmick! |
