| CNU is #5 for southern regional universities |
| Tech is way up, nipping at UMD’s heels, and is higher ranked engineering. UVA, William & Mary and Tech really pulled the trifecta over lowly UMD. |
Almost, but not quite! |

You can't sell online ads or magazines if the rankings don't have some movement. It is helpful to look at the rankings data over time to get a sense of school tiers: https://andyreiter.com/datasets/
Colby hasn't historically been regularly ranked in the top 15. They've often been in the high teens and 20s so that drop isn't huge. Shocker: Columbia's real stats don't equate to being regularly ranked with Stanford, Harvard, and Yale! |
| Yes! Cornell no longer the last ranked ivy. |
Yea. So was JMU last year, or pretty damned close to it, and when they moved to national universities it dropped to 151. Puts CNU in context, eh? |
| Where was Columbia before it was too 10? I want say like 8-10 range. |
8-11 since 1989, 2-5 since 2011 |
Yes, several schools are consistently at the top with just a little movement to keep people interested (I mean to reflect important US News criteria changes). It is not surprising that Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, and Yale have all been #1 in multiple years and haven't ever been lower than 7. On the liberal arts college side, Williams, Amherst, and Swarthmore have all been #1 multiple times and haven't been lower than 4. I'm surprised we haven't seen the USNWR data show that Amherst and Harvard are #1 this year to switch it up and create a little more buzz !

| 8-10 feels right. 18 seems low. |
| Not a great look for Columbia: https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2022/09/09/columbia-usnews-college-ranking/ |
I'm guessing a few Cornell grads are smiling right now. |
| Any list that ranks Hopkins in the top 10 is not to be trusted and is cray cray, I am not a bitter Harper either - my Ivy alma mater continues to do well. I wonder when all of us can acknowledge this is a shit show if a ranking done to stir up conversation - I guess it’s working. |
What was Colby last year? |
JHU has been in the top 10 for the past five years. |
