This is why mornings I either go running or do a HIIT work out at home. |
Pack your work clothes the night before. Make sure you have all of the essentials - shoes, bra, deoderant, etc.
Put out your gym clothes the night before - just pile them onto the back or the toilet or whereever you want to dress so you don't have to bother anybody pulling out clothes. Yes, if you can get a locker then get a locker and put your toiletries in there. A shower caddy like you used in college is super-helpful. You can just grab your stuff out of your locker and go. Even if you can't have a locker, the shower caddy is useful, since you can have it packed and in your bag (get a soft-sided mesh one). Have doubles of everthing - don't rely on taking soap out of the bathroom everyday. Have your gym soap, gym deoderant, etc. and just leave it in your bag. Have a wet-bag to put your towel and sweaty clothes in, and your shower shoes 9 (if you need to bring them home b/c you don't have a locker). Wash your shower-shoes once in a while. ![]() |
I used to sleep in my gym clothes the night before early morning workouts. It was one less thing to stress about the next morning.
I use travel sized toiletries, as they took up less room in the gym bag. Also, bring an extra plastic bag for your wet and sweaty clothes. Trust me, you don’t want them mixing in with any regular clothes. If you can, keep extra things in the car. Like an extra towel and outfit for work. Invest in a styling blow dryer - I use the revlon hair brush one - this can be used on dry hair and drys hair twice as fast as a regular dryer |
Some gym bags have separate compartments for sweaty clothes and sneakers. Well worth it. If you have a full length closet in your office, find an old but wearable full business outfit - plus shoes and underwear - and keep it at work. You never know what you might forget to pack, and it’s nice to know there is a backup. |
Which gym - Not one life, not equinox, not lifetime.... |
Wear your work outfit to the gym- that way you know you have I everything you need. Then change there into workout clothes, workout, shower, and change back. |
For those who change into suits at the gym, how do you transport them in the car? I haven't found a great way yet. I can't hang them on the back of my seat because they brush against the floor. I've been laying them out on the back seat over a blanket, but they get wrinkled. I could hang them from the door handle, but that partly blocks the rear view. |
I hang my work clothes on the back left ceiling handle. I've never had a problem with it blocking the window. |
