DC has been soft on crime for a while.
What exactly do you expect? |
I've always wondered this too! But why the same.honeless camped in bus stops day after day?.why rats running through restaurants. I am so so ready to leave. |
| What can be done? Get a town hall type meeting on CNN where mayor, police chief and all responsible people have to answer questions, explain their actions and take suggestions from DC residents. |
Crime in DC is totally out of control. Youre essentially saying “but fortunately our kind won’t be affected.” That’s pretty racist if you think about it. Everyone has the right to live in a safe city, not just ladies from the suburbs as you say. |
Dp. I don’t think the PP was saying at all that people don’t deserve to live in a safe place. Pointing out that DC is a different experience for suburbanites who come in for dinner once in a while, than it is for people engaged in gun and drug crime, is not racist. That’s just fact. Engaging in drugs and crime is dangerous, no matter what race you are. For what it’s worth, I was half a block away from one of these shootings, putting my kid to bed. In over ten years, these were the first gun shots I’ve actually heard and knew they were gunshots. Our house was literally rattling. I still do not believe I am going to be the target of a violent crime, precisely because these shootings are not targeting me. |
The GOP has repeatedly weakened DC gun laws that citizens voted in. Feel free to Google it, start w McCain. Blame the GOP first. They’re also the ones who beat up Capitol police and have started attacking the FBI. |
Your privilege is showing. Your neighborhood is literally turning into a shooting alley. As a neighbor you should be outraged but instead you blithely proclaim it's all fine because they're not directly targeting you. Btw, stray bullets do happen and kill innocent bystanders. |
And given how much practice they have, the shooters almost never miss! |
Lol, this post. The calls are coming from inside the house, yo. |
Ha! I always wondered why the US army doesn't send out more recruiters to DC streets. Those are battled-hardened criminals with some real world experience! |
| This is a bitter question but really trying to understand not trigger. If one race is more involved then what role their leaders play? |
No, they are just told it’s a waste of time to arrest criminals because they won’t be prosecuted…and they will then be accused of police brutality. So why bother? |
It doesn’t matter if it’s the only gunshots in ten years if one of the bullets hits you or one of your kids. That’s the tricky thing about crime - it doesn’t matter personally until it matters, and then it REALLY matters. And it’s too late to do anything at that point. |
Maybe only stupid people pay that much to live in a crappy area ??? |
