Fees on Takeout

I’d be fine with the ‘added’ tax if they take it off if and when prices lower and stabilize. Otherwise it’s just annoying.

I would not continue to use the business. Agree with the better way to handle is to add a slight increase to all menu items. But also, making the fee a % demonstrates that it’s a money grab. A steak costs more money than chicken. But both are going into the same container. The cost of packaging is the same. Charging the % means they are just trying to screw over customers for both the cost of the item itself and their packaging.

I would also make an online review to warn other customers. No inflammatory language. Just straight pricing facts.

Good point about the percentage. The container fee should be 50 or 75 cents each, written on the menu. I have seen this at some Pho restaurants even before 2020.

Clearly you aren’t a business owner. I love when businesses tell customers who think they are alright to pound sand!

The customer is free to vote with their feet. Pizza places a a dime a dozen.

This reminds me of our local Perubian chicken place when they stopped accepting CC (cash only). We stopped going (we literally don't keep cash in the house). Now they are back to old way - accept both. Lesson learned I guess.
