m Someone sounds #triggered. |
+1 thank you, took the words from my mouth. |
You are terrified? Of what? Humanity? Please, take the next train, plane, or automobile (or auto train!) to Florida. ASAP. They are waiting for you. |
|
Seek sanctuary?
You should be off the grid in Oregon or Idaho. You won't have close-by neighbors, but the ones I know populating those areas will welcome you. |
| The Villages might be a good option if you are over 55. |
That’s funny. |
| Is OP dumb? There are 50 states in this country. Pick a red one. It's not hard. Or even within states there are red counties. Most rural counties that are run down and poor are deep red. OP might prefer those. Whatever you do, don't move to a major city, even in a red state, because ALL major metro areas are blue. |
You don't live in Frederick, I assume. Sit down, please. |
No, it's logical to be terrified of progressive politics that will inevitably lead to more crime. We are already seeing in MoCo everyday. Carjackings, shootings, vandalism, assaults, home invasions, and murders are all up. Members of the new council are extreme anti-police types who propose asinine ideas likes community intervention specialists that will some how magically prevent crime. We all know the predictable will happen as crime will sky rocket up now that the county has no repercussions for committing crime, and no one on the streets to actually enforce the laws. People will flee high crime, schools will deteriorate, and then property values will go down. It starts snowballing with crime. And one doesn't even have to consider greedy motivations like property values. I'm terrified of progressives because you now have to be more scared that you will become a victim of crime since there are no more consequences for criminals. Physical and bodily harm is absolutely something to be concerned about. Gangs are running rampant in MoCo. Shootings in areas like DTSS are absolutely out of control. MoCo is literally turning into Baltimore in terms of crime and quality of schools. |
| If the high income earners are "fleeing" MoCo, why are there so many $1mil+ condo/TH opening up hear me in MoCo. Who the heck is buying up these expensive homes? |
They are fleeing: https://harpswellstrategies.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Post-Pandemic-Economic-Leadership-for-Montgomery-County.pdf
MoCo is already losing to other parts of Maryland itself. PG is now creating more jobs than MoCo. Look, if you are going to have high crime and crappy schools, then at least drop the taxes. Of course that doesn't happen in MoCo. |
I see you have reading comprehension issues. I'll repeat: If the high income earners are "fleeing" MoCo, why are there so many $1mil+ condo/TH opening up near me in MoCo. Who the heck is buying up these expensive homes? I wfh, and every so often when I go run an errand I see all these new builds everywhere. It's crazy. Developers aren't building these expensive homes out of the goodness of their hearts. These are pretty expensive TH and condos. So, again, if UMC people are "fleeing" MoCo, why are there so many new builds of expensive homes? |
| PE buying them and turning them into rentals, foo |
I see you are conflating all sorts anti-developer sentiment and huge inefficient bureaucracy with actual free market economics and high prices. Lol, when you create artificial shortages because of crappy county execs like Elrich, of course prices are high. San Francisco also has high housing costs, but that doesn't change the fact that they're hemorrhaging people trying to escape the suffocating progressivism that has ruined SF. |

I get what you're saying OP. You're probably looking for moderate .. not red and not stuck with ultra-progressive policies like MoCo. I'd say if you don't want to stray too far, look at Frederick or even Washington County. Both are a straight shot up 270/70 though of course traffic can bad since... MoCo just last week opposed the governor's plan to widen it and forced another delay.
Look at communities like Middletown or Boonsboro if you want family-friendly. |
