Agree. And this would not annoy me. The sooner a project gets done, the better for me, so if that means letting them use some water....all good. |
| I have neighbors like OP. It’s part of the reason I’ll never move. |
| I would have been a little annoyed but I would've let them use it. Seems petty not to. |
+1 But you are perfectly within your rights to tell the contractors that you were ok with them using the water the first few days but they really need to figure out a solution with the neighbor. You can also leave your phone number so the neighbor can call you directly to discuss. If it were me and I were the neighbor I would probably apologize profusely and ask if I could reimburse you for the water. I'm sure it was a silly oversight. I wouldn't stress too much about it OP. you are helping a company keep on schedule and you are doing your neighbors are huge service. |
| ^^ FYI, that's not how karma works. |

OP, I do not think the neighbors turned their water off. What is likely happening is that the contractors are working on a water issue but still occasionally need some water.
I would just go out and ask them what is going on myself. If you are friendly they will tell you all about it. Then you can update us as to what the neighbor issue is. |
| I'd be fine with it. I'm not sure why it would bother anyone. |
OP here. The neighbors are back and they stopped over to thank me for being neighborly. All is well.
