Wes Moore will win, although he was not the best democratic candidate. So I do think he'll be the first Black governor, but I don't think he'll be great.

Perez or Franchot would have been better? Moore might not be the best governor in the history of the world, but he also doesn’t need to be.

Perez has only won one elective office in his life, which was District 5 Councilmember representing Takoma Park and Silver Spring by about 1,700 votes. I just don’t understand this idea that he would be somehow stronger statewide in a general election. He gives off a lot of Kennedy-Townsend vibes.

Tom Perez 9635 43.78%
Sally Sternbach 7853 35.68%
Cynthia Rubenstein 3042 13.82%
Susan Cathleen Rich 1478 6.72%

I do think Franchot is probably a safer statewide candidate than Moore. However, that would only be relevant in a matchup with Shulz.

Democrats NEED to be ENGAGED and not take this for granted

Republicans on the eastern shore are going to go NUTS when Cox loses to a black Democrat. What makes Cox so dangerous is that he is going to further radicalize the white Republicans who would never vote for a Democrat. These people are angry, well to do, and heavily armed.

Well next time they should pick someone with wider appeal.

I disagree that people like this are "well to do."

And what makes you think Dems are not? My daddy taught me when I was 9. I was taught in the basement of my MS and HS Northeastern state. All of my neighbors are dems Or ex republicans all are similar to me so there is that.

And believe me, your boys are not "well to do" they are stupid and losers.

Why? If they’re Trumpers, do you know what it is about Moore and/or about Cox that is leading them to vote for Moore?

Sorry, they are former Trumpers. January 6th made them hate Trump.

I feel like the dems were playing with fire by promoting Cox. Everyone on here is so sure that he will lose the general, but I'm not so sure. All that's needed for Cox to win is for democrats not to show up. And in a non-presidential election year, that's a huge risk.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

This. You can always leave it to Maryland Democrats to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory.

Let's see
COX is an election denier. FACT. So clearly his race will not be gained legally right? I mean why is his race free and clear of fraud and not dem. They come off the same lines. HUM..

MAGA is a cult. Nazi cult to be exact. MTG Keeps saying it out loud.

Vote for any Republican and you vote for a liar.
The plan is to make every female breeder, raise your taxes and take your hard-earned social security. Not sure why any of those are attractive.

Christian Nationalism is going to be King? Good luck with that one Christians because SCOTUS is Catholic and if you think the National religion is going to be Chrisitianlty you are stupid.

I think Dems did this in other races -- fuel money to Trump's pick in hopes that they lose the general. I think it will backfire on them at some point.

Let me preface by saying I hate Trump and will vote Moore (though not my original pick), but I need to clarify something here..... Catholics are Christians.

Now, if you say SCOTUS wants to make the US into a Catholic country rather than just "Christian", you have a point. But, they don't because people like Thomas aren't Catholic, but he is a nutjob.

Again, the craziest AG candidate won over the normie Republican without any help from “Dems.” This seems like a Republican problem.

Obviously Moore has it in the bag.

Republicans blew this big time.

+1 It's like uber liberals in a red state who support the most progressive candidate. Waste of a vote.
