You're actually so stupid you didn't even read the article. The law requires reporting to the Governor too. That didn't happen on the timeline required by the law. Ed Clarke missed lots of deadlines. Pick two, pick three, pick any number. He missed them all in trying to cover up stabbings. |
I agree with the pp. The title is misleading. I would think that MCPS remained silent on the issue..not that they failed to meet one of many requirements. |
And you would be wrong. MCPS failed to follow the law that required these incidents be reported promptly and that an After Action Meeting be held and that a final report be transmitted to the governor. You can be in favor of MCPS not following the law, they'd love you to say that. |

This is a serious school safety issue. These types of review should be a priority after a incident that had the potential of being deadly. It’s outrageous that Mr. Clarke is ignorant of the law but it’s even more outrageous that MCPS doesn’t think a review is necessary before six months have elapsed after the incident.
Lessons can be learned and security can be improved only if the reviews are conducted promptly. Yes, the Board of Education should be grilling MCPS on this problem and asking why MCPS isn’t compliant with state law. |
Edward Clarke helped write the school safety law. He is anything but ignorant of the law. |
Well he said he didn’t know about the law. So he’s either ignorant or a liar - either one should be a reason to hire a new head of security. |
He's a liar. Read his bio. It's right on the MCPS website. One of his successes is helping to write the act. |
Then why isn’t the Board and MCPS holding Ed Clarke accountable for an ethics violation if he isn’t being truthful? Clearly he should have known if he helped write the law. Clearly safety is not a priority if it takes four to six months to have a meeting when a potential deadly incident happens on school grounds. |
