Yes, most people will regain the weight once the drug is discontinued. There is some question as to whether being on it long enough (like three years or more) may allow the body to adjust to a new lower set point weight, but we don’t know. It’s best to assume as a weight loss medication this is a lifelong drug.

This is why it is extremely short sighted for those who are seeking it out looking to lose 10-30 pounds. Just not worth it.

Taken it almost a month and lost 13 lbs. I am having some side effects (fatigue, hair loss, insomnia, heartburn) but the pros outweigh the cons. Hoping to keep making progress as I have quite a bit to lose (50 more).

I would not be able to live with hair loss. How much?

If you don't lose weight in week 2, then something isn't working. When DH tries to lose weight the scale won't budge in week 1, Week 2 and he's down 5lbs.

I am on a little over three weeks and am down 18 lbs. Really no side effects other than a little constipation, which is manageable with Colace.

I have made big changes to my diet and am working on incorporating more exercise. I'm counting calories and struggle to eat 1200 a day. No alcohol since I started and I've lost the desire.

This drug is amazing and I feel great!

I've lost about 10 pounds in a the first 4 weeks. I have about 50 pounds total to lose.

I have bad heartburn most days and days when I'm quite nauseated. Other days I feel fine.
i'm surprised by the side effects as traditionally I don't get side effects with meds (but I seem to be pretty sensitive to Mounjaro).

Has anyone with pre diabetes managed to get this covered?

I just barely had pre-diabetes, and my insurance fully covers it (Carefirst Blue Choice).

Have lost more than 30 lbs in just over 3 months. Side effects were very mild on the lowest dose. At 7.5 I felt nausea all the time, and went back down to 2.5. Everyone seems to respond to this med a little differently, though, so just because one person had side effects or very rapid weight loss, don't assume you will too.

Absolutely thrilled to have found this medication. Feel much healthier and more energetic.

If your insurance rejects it, how does the coupon work then?

The coupon still works for Mounjaro if your insurance rejects it.

It’s like Ozempic and Wegovy: you have to work up to the full dosage. That takes several weeks. If you were to start at the full dosage, you’d be in the ER. Give it a month.

Please post your dose when stating losses.

Many people would happily take a lifelong drug that allowed them to stay 20lbs thinner
