Your PCP is perfectly capable of prescribing it. Perhaps they believe that it will be covered by insurance if an endocrinologist prescribes it.
You need a Type II Diabetes diagnosis to get it covered right now. It's going through the FDA approval process for weight loss right now so hopefully that changes soon.
Not true. Lots of people get it covered without a diabetes diagnosis.
