Brow lamination- why???

Why are most of the images I'm seeing online of men doing this?

I’ve had it done and love it. As someone with thinner more sparse brows, it is not nearly as dramatic as this. It just makes my brows look fuller and closer to normal

PP, you realize there is not such thing as "normal" right? Everyone is different. You meant "trendy."

I like big eyebrows as much as the next girl, but the sticking straight up thing looks weird to me.

Wow. Never heard of this. But my mom always taught me to train my eyebrow hairs up. I usually just wet my fingers and smooth them upwards. Or I do the same with a tiny squirt of hairspray on my finger tip. I am now teaching my tween to do the same. Every once in a while, if there is a hair that is totally bonkers, I pluck it. Why does modern life make everything so much more complicated (and expensive)? In the vast world of things to worry about, who are the people who sit around and dream up a new thing for people to worry about and spend money on????

It makes the eye brows too thick, out of proportion.

Most replies here are from people who have never tried it, OP.

I’ve been going it for years and I hate the way it looks for the first 2 days or so. Then it settles and looks more natural. In my case I don’t brush them all the way up, but I do the arch, and the effect is like a brow lift

Just hang in there!

I do a modified version on my brows that doesn’t last more than a few hours— comb them up with Vaseline to set them, apply a brow powder to fill, then set with hairspray. I think it makes my face look so much more polished and “done”. And I like how this look requires such minimal upkeep— just pluck a few strays and occasionally trim the tiniest bit for shape.

But I have been interested in doing brow lamination because it’s relatively inexpensive and it would really simplify my makeup routine if I didn’t have to do brows.

What did you wear your brows like before? Maybe you just aren’t used to it, or maybe you need a small adjustment to make them look right?

Don't spend more money to make your brows to look ridiculous. Plastic eye brows, ugh.

It's the scared eyebrow trend.

OP: it helps to hear that it settles down after a few days- thank you! How long does it take to wear off totally for you?

It’s totally gone in 6 weeks. I usually go 8 weeks between treatments so my brows get a rest.

Truly the main thing is once they settle after a few days you should be able to brush them into any shape you want - they don’t have to look like the brow pics that are trendy right now! I’m a 40 year old mom, and after those first few days they look 100% natural, just with a higher arch (I have a flat brow line).

Same here. I’m a 37yo decidedly un-trendy mom and my laminated brows look extremely extra until I wash my face 24 hrs later, then they just look like nicely made up brows. I get other moms asking me all the time what brow makeup I use and I direct them to my brow place instead.

It's stupid as hell. Looks almost as ridiculous as fake lashes. (No, you're aren't subtle and they don't look natural.)

Mine do that with a little bit of vaseline or plain chapstick. No need to pay someone!
