Just venting, I tried brow lamination today and I want to kick myself. It looks terrible. I’m 43, why did I get sucked into this stupid trend?!
Have you tried it? Good/bad results? |
|
I’ve never had it done but I like the look. I do a modified version on my brows that doesn’t last more than a few hours— comb them up with Vaseline to set them, apply a brow powder to fill, then set with hairspray. I think it makes my face look so much more polished and “done”. And I like how this look requires such minimal upkeep— just pluck a few strays and occasionally trim the tiniest bit for shape.
But I have been interested in doing brow lamination because it’s relatively inexpensive and it would really simplify my makeup routine if I didn’t have to do brows. What did you wear your brows like before? Maybe you just aren’t used to it, or maybe you need a small adjustment to make them look right? |

Sorry you're unhappy with it, OP. How long does it last?
I think it looks ridiculous on most people. |
| I guess I "laminate" mine every day. After washing my face, I add moisturizer everywhere, including the eyebrow area, and push the hair more vertical into a perfect shape. Then they kind of dry in that shape for the day. |
|
Oh no, OP. Hope this doesn't last long?
I think this is one of those temporary things that people realize looks bad pretty soon. If you are getting that shaggy lion thing on the top of the brow, trim them so they are within a normal brow line so they don't look unkempt. |

NP Here.
For those of us who do not know what laminated brows are - can someone please post a photo or link? Thx. I would appreciate it very much. 😀 |
| It even sounds stupid. |

OMG I just looked it up and basically it’s a relaxer for your eyebrows.
http://www.allure.com/story/brow-lamination-trend-photos The actual process starts off by painting a lifting cream onto the brow, which "creates a chemical process that breaks down bonds in each hair, allowing them to be moved into a new shape," Odey explains. Next, the brow hairs are brushed up into place and a neutralizer is applied to "reform the bonds into their new shape," she adds. Then a nourishing oil is added to the brows to replenish their moisture after the chemical treatment process. |
As someone who's brows point downward (much like my breasts ), I would love it if my brows looked like that!
|
That's what I do too. It's a while lot cheaper and less permanent. |
| Just get a brow brush, push yours slightly up, more vertical towards the nose, cut any wild hairs shorter. |
| Another cheap method is to use some bar soap (wet it down a bit) on your brow and brow brush in place. |
| This is part of the clean girl aesthetic on TikTok. Looks good on some people and not others. I think it only looks good when you have a glowy, wrinkle-free complexion and do your makeup accordingly. |

It looks like you turned your eyebrows into a shag rug.
Why are most of the images I'm seeing online of men doing this?
|
| It looks kind of unnatural to me. Eyebrow hair is not meant to stand at attention, perpendicular to the eye. |
