I wish you'd come up with this idea earlier!

Me too!

I cannot believe I just read a reference to Alex B on here. What is happening?? I cannot have my twitter and DCUM worlds collide.

I think their endorsement logic was very reasonable, and in fact I had expected them to endorse Bowser due to the candidates’ records….unless R White came out against single family zoning. Which technically he did in their questionnaire, but c’mon…he didn’t mention this at all in his campaign! He didn’t answer the Post question on it (or ANY of their questions), and in his tweet about the Post questions he STILL didnt give a clear stance on single family zoning. I think they were right not to take some of his questionnaire answers at face value.

GGW's endorsements annually are an exercise in ideological incoherence.

They endorsed Vince Gray, who actively tried to kill the streetcar and also ran a highly corrupt campaign against Fenty.

They endorsed Trayon White, who not only is an anti-Semite -- this should be immediately disqualifying -- but also has personally prevented any bike lanes from being built in his ward (this should be immediately disqualifying to GGW).

And now they're endorsing Bowser even though they spent the bulk of their truly baffling endorsement talking about how White would be the better choice.

This now happens with them every election, and every time their credibility takes a giant hit. When do we just stop listening to them?

They're getting absolutely dragged on social media for this, and their responses are absolutely laughable. Alex Baca, particularly, is coming off particularly poorly, which is not surprising.

looks like they are so scared of being called out for inconsistencies that they disabled comments. Alex has really steered this ship poorly, but even attention for screwing up is attention, right?

She comes off as a deeply unpleasant person on Twitter, and this latest fiasco is only strengthening that impression.

Because the GGW-YIMBY people have purposefully migrated here because (1) traffic there is declining and they are getting bored talk to each other and (2) they think they are here to proselytize and change minds in favor of YIMBY at the best or at the least try to pile on ostracize those that don’t 100% disagree at the worst. They imagine themselves as something like civilizing missionaries, accept the word or god or accept the sword or something like that.

The secret is that traffic here is also very low so essentially they just came here to talk to themselves. I assume that they also know that, which means that they probably think they are creating an impression of broad public support for the casual observer.

What is the GGW lady who thinks that Jan. 6 emotionally scarred the whole city saying?

Is she laying low after getting dragged for that nonsense?

I don’t think there’s a lot of brain power there anymore, because that tweet is just ridiculous. For people that work on the Hill and live in proximity, sure, I get it. But for the “average” DC resident we were watching it in TV just like the rest of America. In my own lifetime I can think of many incidents that were actually traumatizing for the city of DC and not “Washington”. This would include off the top of my head: the Air Florida crash, the sniper, 911, and anthrax. Old timers would probably include the ‘68 riots, obviously. Jan. 6 just doesn’t even compare, but it’s a perfect encapsulation of their smugness.

Good for him, the DC Streetcar is the worst billions of dollars ever spent in city history.

You're right. Nobody in DC actually works in the Capitol or has loved ones who work/ed in the Capitol and the ongoing GQP coup and the riot where they tried to kill Democrat politcians is all overblown. Thanks for checking in, Jack Del Rio. Welcome to DCUM!

And why should people be traumatized by the 911 emergency system? I mean the DC version does suck big time, but why should people be traumatized by it?

Let me guess, you were probably not even alive or perhaps a small child on 911. Because if you were actually a person with cognition you would not be posting something so stupid.

Of course GGW did. Bowser is a tool of her developer donors. She and her planning office will do anything thet they want.
