The new “next milk” and wonder milks are great

Nut milks are absolutely appalling for the environment.

Casein allergies are a thing. It’s not always lactose.

Are you kidding? OP said, "I just found out at 45 that I am lactose intolerant." No mention of casein allergy, nice try though.

Hey. Sorry you feel the need to assert that. I became completely intolerant of all milk products after giving birth. It’s real. Sorry it offends you in some way even though we are complete strangers and it effects you not at all. Lactaid milk still makes me barf and wheeze. It’s not the solution for everyone.

YOU are NOT the center of the universe. I was helping the OP. Not everything in life is about you. OP wrote what like 2 sentences and YOU couldn't even bother to read it? Yet YOU were so quick to try and "correct" me even though YOU were wrong. SMH.

Ok. That is completely about you. I was giving an example as to why lactose milk might not be an answer. Try not to be so reactive. It’s not helpful.

+100. Almond milk is a big part of the problem with the drought in California.

Use Lactose Free milk op. You can use it in recipes etc too. You can also find LF half and half which helps with a lot of recipes.

Also I don’t factor right or wrong into this. Offering an experience isn’t correcting.

Cows aren’t super great for the environment either.

It’s a good board. Calm down.

Fairlife milk is excellent tasting and lactose free. It’s ultra filtered and best tasting to me. I get it even though I don’t need lactose free

Have you considered raw milk? Usually easier to digest and many with lactose allergies can drink it.

You can try A2 milks or lactose free milks.
I'm interested in how this oh I'm allergic to this or I can't tolerate this came about? It wasn't like a food sensitivity test was it?

Also someone who was dairy-free for two and a half years because her son can't tolerate dairy even through breast milk I got to drink my first glass of whole milk about 2 months after I weaned him there is nothing that tastes like milk. Nothing.

And if you have a sensitive stomach to any of the gums or carrageenan the options are even more limited.

Anonymous wrote:Are you allergic to oats? I know you said you don’t like them but Oatly full-fat is the closest I’ve found to real milk, and I’ve tried the whole lot of them.

This--I use Oatly full fat or I use chobani extra creamy.

Tasty oat milk is mostly oil.

Thanks!
