Can’t drink milk anymore. Looking for Best tasting brand of nut milk. Closest to milk taste.

I just found out at 45 that I am lactose intolerant. I’ve been drinking milk my whole life. I would like to find the milk that is mildest in taste and closest to the real thing. I’d like to stick to nuts or seeds only. I do not like oats. Any ideas, brands, suggestions.

Thanks!

Why don't you just get lactose-free milk? Lactaid or lactose-free Horizon Valley.

I like almond/coconut mix

Are you drinking it or using it in recipes? Have different recommendations for each.

Are you allergic to oats? I know you said you don’t like them but Oatly full-fat is the closest I’ve found to real milk, and I’ve tried the whole lot of them.

+1 on oatmilk. Try the different brands, but I truly think it doesn't taste like oats and is tastiest and most "milk-like."

Not op, but I’m oats sensitive. Wish they’d chill in making so many oat milk products. I’ve been dairy free for a long time and now have to scan products and return things much more often than in the past. it’s great that it’s available and I’m happy for everyone that can drink it or eat oatmeal cheese… But some stores are dedicating so much space to oatmeal it’s hard to find anything without it. And thankfully I can digest tree nuts but I have a family member that can’t, so that gets fun.

Stepping off my gripe box!

I like coconut cashew milk or coconut almond milk, hemp milk is sometimes nice to switch it up. I think the biggest thing is trying different milks and switching them out every once in a while. I get tired of the textures. Nothing is going to have the body/mouthfeel of milk.

Auto correct changed every oat milk to oatmeal… how embarrassing

Casein allergies are a thing. It’s not always lactose.

If for cereal the one I like is the Very Vanilla almond milk--it's pretty neutral and tastes nice for drinking but it's sweet.

Unsweetened Almond or Oat milk has worked for me. I also seem to tolerate Lactaid

Are you kidding? OP said, "I just found out at 45 that I am lactose intolerant." No mention of casein allergy, nice try though.

I find nut milk disgusting. I don't even think it's much nut. Mostly added syrup and crap.

Try Westsoy Plain Unsweetened milk.
