| I used to work about 60 hours a week at two jobs. What of it? Why do you care what I do outside of the job you know me from? You don't know what's going on at home that I'm trying to avoid, you don't know what debts I have, you don't know who I'm supporting, or what I'm trying to pay for. Mind your business. |
| Double dipping is not the same as moonlighting or a side hustle. Which is it? |
| Having a 2nd job is not double dipping. Double dipping is when you are charging the same hour to 2 different jobs or clients. |
God bless you for being an rn and caring for people. There are so many bs jobs in the world, but yours has true meaning. Thank you. |
Ok. I thought you were talking about people “on the clock” and getting paid by Job A, while using that time to perform both Job A and Job B (where they are also on the clock). I thought you were dumb even then and came to explain why. But you’re not even talking about that… you’re just talking about a guy who has a 13-hour per week 2nd job? That’s not double dipping you dumbass. This has to be fiction or you are the biggest loser I know. |
|
Why do you care? You said he is doing his job.
He isn’t double dipping. He has a second job. |
Do you know that many people have to work more than one job to survive? What the F is wrong with you? |
It would be very hard for an RN to “double dip”. What is up with everyone on this thread! |
| Post a sign near the guacamole reminding people to take a fresh chip. Or, just don't serve it. |
Just stay committed to a company who may fire you for no real reason and enjoy your downtime okay. How dare people work other jobs to make a living, peasant! Seriously, why do you even care? As long as the work gets done, so what? A company pays you to do a job and if you’re doing that job, and there are no conflicts of interest, what is the issue? What a strange post. |
| Why is working 40 + 13 at a side job any different than working 53 hrs per week at the main one? |
| This isn’t double dipping. It’s having a second job. Insert eye roll emoji. |
| Depends on when the work is done and if it’s affecting Job A performance. I had two coworkers who did this. Both got WFH status. You could never find them during business hours. One got fired. The other was reprimanded and put on a PIP. |
Agree this is a problem. OP referenced his downtime, not that the co-worker was using company time for his side hustle. My company requires approval for any secondary employment and signed agreement that it won't compete with company's business and won't happen on company time. They don't really care if you're selling MLM or have an Etsy shop or work retail on the weekends. Your extra job can't be with a competitor or going after similar clients or using company IP, though. |
