Will waitlist move tomorrow?

5th: 56
6th: 95

I thought key to mission was getting 5th graders in to establish good executive functioning, etc. This does meet their target of 150 kids in year one.

That is odd indeed. At the open house they mentioned not fully subscribing the 5th grade class in order to build the culture then filling it next year on the belief that the returning students would reinforce the culture. Honestly that made sense to me. How does that track with fully subscribing the 6th grade class? Would not the same principle hold true in that grade? Or perhaps the trade-off of culture building vs delayed academic rigor was too severe in 6th? Without judgment and from a strictly academic perspective would love to hear more about the thought process.

I don't think PP was taking issue with the approach for 5th, just intrigued about why that same thought process is not being applied to 6th.

Not seeing any movement yet. This is boring.

Ha, this is my exact waitlist too. No movement on either Latin campus or BASIS, on my list at least.

Can you give us rough approximations of your #s for each?

NP. We're about 60 for Basis and 100 for Latin 2. You?

We are also 30s for Basis and 70s for Latin II. We will get an offer from Basis but not holding my breath on Latin II. What do you think?

NP. I think there are related moving pieces. My impression is there are not a small number of people who matched at Basis who are still on WL for Latin I, and just about 100% of the Latin II WL. If (big if) anyone gets off Latin I WL that will drive subsequent movement on Basis and Latin II. But likely to be a delayed movement because Latin I needs to move first.

Would also observe that the person who processes enrollments at Basis does not appear to be in a rush. She waited weeks to process enrollments (common refrain at open house a few weeks ago) so if the Basis WL doesn't move at first it might not portent lack of movement overall.

Good luck to all.

Offer from BASIS seems almost guaranteed. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Latin II. Could move a lot due to the negatives (crap facilities, not great location, temporary campus, brand new school). Personally, we do not know what we would do if we got into BASIS and then got an offer from Latin II.

I wonder how many people on the WL have Basis above Latin II, and vice versa.

How long before it shows you are enrolled in MySchool. I received the email that all signatures were complete a day ago.
