Recommendations for date night restaurant in DC

I generally agree people can have different levels of comfort. But then you used a lazy and misogynistic derogatory term so anything else you say holds little value.

OP here - we’re not concerned eith safety; as I said, we go downtown all the time. I’m just not familiar with this neighborhood, and yes, NE is a little farther from VA than other areas but I’m willing yo Chablis it out if it’s worth the trip.

Oh well, guess that means easier reservations at Masseria, St. Anselm, and Stellina, shorter lines at Pluma and Annare, better chance of nabbing a seat at Cotton + Reed, Suburbia, or Hi-Lawn. 1 in 1,000. I’m dying (of laughter, not gunshots, which I never ever heard at Union Market of all places).

Ok that’s fine but St Anselm is in Union Market which is bougie as hell. You can park within a block and there are several good options for drinks before if you want. Plus the food is really good.

It’s just not clear to me why you’d bother coming into DC if this neighborhood bothers you. NoVa has plenty of great restaurants. The city does have more crime and poverty. If that scares you, maybe you are better off staying out.

NP - I would recommend the Dabney for a date night out. That location isn't too hard from VA. Otherwise Chez Billy Sud in Georgetown. I have heard great things about St. Anselm so would be willing to go a little further to check it out. It's new and why not if you don't get out that much? Have fun!

+1. I’ve lived near union market for 10 years. Please, VA and MD, keep your wallets and cars in other parts of the city that aren’t “dangerous”.
