Prob end up 3.5 or so unweighted (honors and AP)
Not sure on test scores but I’d estimate 30 ACT
Private school
EC good, niche sport, internships

Open geographically other than Midwest
Size not super small or super big 5-20k undergraduates
Wants Greek life
Not sure on major
Outdoor attractions (hiking etc) a plus

OP, check out Niche.com
Plug in grades, campus size, private/public. If she knows major… it’s a good starting point.

$$$$

They give great merit aid, especially to kids from OOS.

Santa Clara University. A neighbor told us about this school and the more we looked, the more we loved it. I think it’s hit the hot list now. DD admitted but going elsewhere on West Coast—would have been thrilled to go here too.

UVM is great but not big Greek life. Miami U or U Delaware but they are on the larger end of what you’re looking for. And I guess Ohio is Midwest though.

What is wrong with the Midwest? She seems pretty flexible on most points but will reject all schools in the Midwest even if they could be a potential fit?

Denver is not in the mountains, people.

Sometimes kids wants things that are not good for them. She thinks she wants greek life now . . . until she actually experiences it. Far too often greek life is not kind to young women.

Yeah, the date rare culture at some of these places is lots of fun. Twenty students have died pledging since 2005. One of them was my cousin’s son’s best friend. The incident ruined a lot of other lives too. My cousin’s son dropped out and spent years trying to recover.

Sure, greek life can be really great, until it isn’t.
