| I wipe counters and the kitchen table down every evening with Method or EverSpring (Target brand) all purpose spray. I use bleach spray if raw meat happened to get on the kitchen coutner. |
| Wipe with wet paper towel (water) unless I prepared raw meat. Then something stronger. |
Same here |
Do you prepare food directly on your countertop? I sure don’t. |
+1 but not a 50/50 mix. 1/2 cup vinegar for large spray bottle. The rest is water. |
| i wipe away crumbs with a towel several times a day and then clean at the end of the evening with either Force of Nature (disinfectant) or Seventh Generations granite spray depending on what kind of mess has touched the counter |
|
Quick wipe down with a damp sponge or rag with a bit of dish soap at the end of the day. I like going in to the kitchen in the morning and having a clean counter.
Mid-meal-prep, I wipe with a sponge or rag and water if something spilled. Disinfectant or sanitizing spray if I was doing anything with raw meat. |
Do you wash your dishes with 409 or Lysol? If you do, knock yourself out spraying it on counters. What a stupid comment. |
Why yes, I do. I have granite countertops and can cut on them, put hot things on them - they're great. I sure don't want 409 or some other sprayed chemical going into my food. Any food surface should be clean, no matter if you put food directly on it or not. Your hands touch the chemical counter and then touch the food. |
No, but neither to I prepare food directly on my countertop. Talk about stupid comments. Moreover, I was reacting solely to your implicit belief that there are no chemicals in dish soap. If you want people to pick up nuance in your comments, write more clearly. |
| Mrs. Meyers spray |
Oh, good, a wannabe "chef" why destroys her knives by cutting on her granite countertop. We all can learn a lot from you. Please, tell us more. |
| As needed. Water only, or perhaps a tiny bit of dish soap and elbow grease. My counters are a beautiful polished walnut wood. |
| I don't do nothing. I wait till the cleaning people come. |
