It’s too soon for me to decide what I’ll do with my May trip.

Just wanted to shout out to my fellow US citizens in Puerto Rico.

All Puerto Ricans are US citizens, so hope your shout-out is meant for them too.

Reread the post. Your attempt at holier than thou snark is unwarranted.

+1 they jumped the gun on their outrage.

Contact your host to see if they are on a generator.

Just did. They only have a generator for water pump and hallways. We are on the 14th floor. Makes me nervous.

Looking to rebook last minute at hotel in San Juan. Apparently Condado area has power restored, but not in Isla Verde where our original condo was. Very little time to research. We'd like to be right on the water. Any suggestions?

We're headed there tomorrow morning too. Sigh...staying in a hotel in old San Juan. The hotel has a generator, but I'm not sure if grocery stores or restaurants will have food...?

Wow what terrible leadership they can't even keep the power on

We are supposed to leave Sunday. First my DH can’t go, now this. We are spending the first few nights in an AirBnB and I the manager hasn’t responded to my message. I’m debating whether to cancel.

Marriott has several properties there.

It’s not anyone’s fault. There was a fire at the main power plant.

Pp here. Was one in Cabo Rojo. Drove through sections of San Juan. Still no power. But others I know in tourist area had it. I would ask a lot of questions before coming down if you are not adventurous. Restaurants are open with generators. Very crowded and slow service. But that is everywhere - the slow service. Just be prepared - I'm not complaining. We bought a bunch of groceries just so we didn't have to eat out every meal. Just takes way too long.
As we drove back from Cabo Rojo a good portion of island south of San Juan still has no power.

Pp here. Our friend in Condado has power. The Marriott on Ashford is awesome if they have power.

Yep they need to get some Texans over there.

Grocery stores are open. Every business appears that have a generator. Can't afford to lose an entire store of food. Walmart was great if you go there.

Again, there was a FIRE at the electrical plant. Read what happened.

Hotels have generators. The tourist sections usually get power first.

Yes, we all know that. Thank you, Captain Obvious.
