Which universities have gone DOWN in stature over the years?

Agreed. DC applied ten years ago and it was above Kenyon and significantly above Denison in caliber. Now I would say Kenyon is better and Denison is close to equal (hard to compare since so different).

How about the Jefferson Scholarship?

Is this a joke?

It’s the law here that every college thread needs to mention UVA.

It's still way up there, but where I think it used to be regarded as the top, now I think it's neck-and-neck or maybe even a little below Yale, Stanford, and MIT.

Below Yale? That's a Reach. Agree with below Stanford unfortunately.

How about the Jefferson Scholarship?

I am the OP about the Jefferson Scholarship. I actually wasn't trying to say anything about the scholarship's prestige at all. I was trying to make a comparison of UVA for free vs. Harvard at $320,000+. Others started mentioning Jefferson as a thing. I should have just said UVA for free

I think UMD has gone down recently. I remember a few years ago it was something like 35% acceptance rate and it's shot up to 45%

Wrong direction when applications are at an all time high and the Ivies are in single digits.

James madison if you’re from Virginia. Used to be for the kids that just missed UVA. Now, not so much.
