| That's a ton of OOS apps. I'll need to look at the data, but I'm guessing many of those are from NY, NJ, and other states with crappy state schools. |
| Gonna be absolutely brutal for many families. The school needs to increase it's class size, somewhat. |
We're OOS so the offer rate for deferred students is less than 2%. Not good odds for sure.
|
From Dean J's blog:
Pretty soon (if not already), the defer from ED or EA will be tantamount to rejection. At that point, why not simply reject kids. |
Right? They deferred over 4,000 OOS kids from EA. And ultimately admitted 83? Seems like they could have rejected many of those kids earlier. |
Oh but remember, DCUM posters like to claim no one outside Virginia has ever heard of UVA. 🧐 |
Waitlists are huge everywhere. VT had 15,000 on theirs. |
| Rejects can regroup, go to NVCC, and do well there to get a guaranteed transfer. |
They also have to accurately load the portal. This gives times for quality control. |
| I think Dean J should refrain from posting statistics until just before decisions are released. |
It's a great program but kids don't get the same quality of education for two years and miss out on making friends at their final college. |
Lol +1 |
But that doesn’t work for OOS |
UVA was established 203 years ago - the city and services like trains landlocked the University. They have tried To increase wherever possible but there’s little room. Remember also tgat it takes in the community college transfers |
+2, half of my first year's dorm hall are out of state. |
