A house for sale on a magical street in Bethesda

Very curious who did this flip. It looks very cheaply done and not done by a person who actually lived here. Seeing more and more of that in the area and its truly sad.

OMG what a truly embarrassing promotional post. Magical OMG.

me either. looks cheap and generic. and what's the point of buying a 100 year old home if all of the charm has been scrubbed?

The interior is a mess. Exterior is lovely. Can't believe that price.

It seems a pretty safe bet that OP is the listing agent. The house is over-priced and is obviously a quick, low-quality flip. As others mentioned, the roof, windows are old, and it’s unlikely the electrical or plumbing or HVAC haVE been updated. For 2.7 m people aren’t going to want to haul their laundry to the basement. Flippers: please create an upper level laundry room if you are trying to sell a multi-million dollar house. The rooms look small, the ceilings are low, it has all the problems of an old house, and the curb appeal is an issue. There are zero pictures of the yard, so one has to assume nothing special there. Or the garage, which is probably unimproved. I’m tired of greedy flippers looking for a windfall. Do a quality renovation (like you’d want to live there yourself) and make it worth the money. Take some pride in creating something of value that will make the world slightly better, not some superficial face-lift.

Way overpriced. I walk by this house all the time. They have done nothing to the outside if it since purchasing it. It looks pretty shabby outside and the yard needs a ton of work plus the lot is up on a hill and sloped. Also, the renovations inside look cheap and quick. They didn’t appear to move walls to open up space, or upgrade things like electrical, windows, etc.

+1 No one who likes that exterior will approve of the interior, and vice versa. And this does seem crazily overpriced.

It’s not an HOA, I think it’s more like a civic association.

Who cares and why does that matter? This is about the house.

Maybe a potential buyer who is black would like to know whether their family would feel comfortable there? Or a family of any race that values diversity is interested in the house? Yokes, PP, its not at all hard to understand why this is relevant to potential buyers if you have been paying attention to life in America over the last 400 years.

That is a bummer of a juxtaposition between interior and exterior. Outside is cute but a little sad. Inside is…bad.

I Saw the coming soon sign two weeks ago but wondered if it is a teardown or not. The outside of the house suggested an aging owner who cannot upkeep the house anymore. I didn't know the story behind it but am glad it will stand for another decade or more.

I like the interior but the exterior is a mess.

Very very cute exterior, but looks a little shabby. Maybe just the landscaping in winter. The interior is generic, and I’m surprised they would list at that price point and not even bother to stage. Kind of hard to get any sense of charm from empty rooms and standard finishes. I feel like you see a lot of adorable house exteriors like this in Cleveland Park.

Cute. But price is ugly.
