Glad he is out of the US. Hope they don’t let him in again.

So that should make him a front-runner in any democrat primary race, wouldn’t it?

except he's a R.

These days Rs seem to love Putin. Don't recognize the R party anymore.

-former R

Really? I'm calling you out for your "former R" shtick.

You know Bush I got us into a mess in Iraq and Afghanistan. Is that the old R party you miss?

I'm not aware of any widespread sentiment in favor of Putin among actual, credible Republicans or their voters either. But I am aware of some posters on DCUM trying to pretend there is.

DP

I am just surprised more Republicans don’t leave the Trumpublican party … it definitely does not resemble the Republicans of old. I strongly disagreed with the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq due to lack of evidence of WMD. However, let’s not kid ourselves that the antics of Republicans at Trump mass rallies and neo Trump rallies resemble Republican behavior in the past. The public conduct now is shocking.

Which part of it is the most shocking to you? From war-mongering perspective, Trumpublicans aren't the type to get us into the WW3, they aren't focused on wars outside of our continent.

Exactly!

Lol he is Texas conservative/republican. Apparently he is asking the Russians support for Texas secession. He is there on orders from Greg Abbott and the republicans. Nothing as disloyal and treasonous as a Texan!

Bentley’s last job in the U.S. was as an arborist in the Austin area, Texas Monthly reported in a 2018 article. Prior to that, he was wanted by U.S. Marshals, allegedly worked as a drug trafficker, did a stint in prison then went on the run after breaking out of a halfway house, and had a somewhat notable foray in politics primarily as an advocate for marijuana legalization — all experiences that, he says, led him to where he is today.

Yep. sounds like a Texas conservative to me.

Yes he could run for AG.

Please the vast majority of republicans supports Putin and are cheering the Russians on. Why because the republicans want to replace the current US system of government with the Russians model. What do you think Jan 6th was about. Also conservatives/republicans in Texas want to secede. They see Russia as a future ally against the US. That sound messed up but it is what republicans in Texas believe. This guy is very typical of conservatives/republicans. Just stop with your gaslighting.

+1 I'm the former ^R. I voted for both Bushes.

Yes, Bush admin lied about WMD, and how they treated Valerie Plame was the reason that I left that party.

Regardless, you know that Rs, at least prior to Trump, were all about getting involved in foreign affairs, right? So yea, if Bush was in power, we would do more than impose sanctions. That was actually their strong point, irrespective of how you feel about it.

Today's Rs are populists who don't want to get involved with foreign affairs. They have an isoliationist strategy which is the antithesis to the free trade R party prior to Trump.

Look at how Trump praised Putin and Russia. He wanted to be buddy buddy with Russia. The Russians did a great job of infiltrating the R party and making them look more favorable to Rs. You had Russian assets infiltrate the R party. Reagan would be turning over in his grave.

I'm in my 50s, so my brand of R goes way back. What we have today is RINO.

Yea, they just want a war within the US.

+1 Here’s Ted Cruz tweeting a Russian military propaganda film and calling the American military pansies less than a year ago.

If you support Russia you don’t vote for Democrats. And, from the article in the OP: “While it is legal in some circumstances for U.S. citizens to fight for foreign countries, certain actions will result in having citizenship revoked, McClatchy News reported.”

Bernie Sanders honeymooned in Moscow during the height of the Cold War.

That was back when it was a socialist/Marxist country. If you think Putin is a Marxist, I have a bridge to sell you.

Putin says he is going after nazis in Ukraine. This is why a few republicans have spoke out against him.

He strikes me as the kind of person who will be shocked when the Russian army turns on him.
