“Comrade Texas” - the American Boomer helping Russia on the front lines

He is a dedicated Marxist (seriously - he says he is a Marxist).

Glad he is out of the US. Hope they don’t let him in again.

There are also dozens of Spanish ideological Marxists who’ve joined the Russian invasion force.

He’s from Austin. That’s all you need to know

Lol he is Texas conservative/republican. Apparently he is asking the Russians support for Texas secession. He is there on orders from Greg Abbott and the republicans. Nothing as disloyal and treasonous as a Texan!

Not unless they're stupid. Russia isn't communist anymore. Good grief.

So that should make him a front-runner in any democrat primary race, wouldn’t it?

Really? I'm calling you out for your "former R" shtick.

You know Bush I got us into a mess in Iraq and Afghanistan. Is that the old R party you miss?

I'm not aware of any widespread sentiment in favor of Putin among actual, credible Republicans or their voters either. But I am aware of some posters on DCUM trying to pretend there is.

Bentley’s last job in the U.S. was as an arborist in the Austin area, Texas Monthly reported in a 2018 article. Prior to that, he was wanted by U.S. Marshals, allegedly worked as a drug trafficker, did a stint in prison then went on the run after breaking out of a halfway house, and had a somewhat notable foray in politics primarily as an advocate for marijuana legalization — all experiences that, he says, led him to where he is today.

Yep. sounds like a Texas conservative to me.

He is a lifelong Marxist:

“Russell Bentley was born in the US state of Texas in 1960, and he became interested in communism at the age of twelve after reading the works of men such as Ho Chi Minh and Che Guevara. Bentley would decide to join the Vostok Battalion of the Donetsk People's Republic in December 2014, believing that the new government of Ukraine was fascist, and that Russia was not an authoritarian state, but an ally of the Donbass rebels. Bentley would take part in fighting the Ukrainian Army on the front lines until June 2015, and he entered the information warfare branch of the armed forces of the DPR. Bentley released videos of himself in Donetsk, and he was also interviewed by Vice News on one occasion. Bentley celebrated the death of pro-Ukraine American fighter Mark Paslawsky, and he accused America of being a fascist police state, accused all Ukrainian soldiers of being Nazis, and claimed that Russia was less of a dictatorship than America. By July 2016, he had been baptized into the Russian Orthodox church.“

Putin has also become a big supporter of the Orthodox Church. He sees it as a tool for manipulation of the people.

I am just surprised more Republicans don’t leave the Trumpublican party … it definitely does not resemble the Republicans of old. I strongly disagreed with the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq due to lack of evidence of WMD. However, let’s not kid ourselves that the antics of Republicans at Trump mass rallies and neo Trump rallies resemble Republican behavior in the past. The public conduct now is shocking.
