Yes, if you are trying to lose weight stop with the Fat Free business.

I love half-n-half too and fat-free does NOT cut it. Aside from the ingredients, it takes like crap. I doubt the cream in your coffee is adding to your waistline. I actually read somewhere that women who drink more whole milk weigh less than those that drink skim. Morning coffee is too important to me to have it taste terrible. It changes my whole day. I still don't know why they even make the stuff--and I HATE that they package it the same--because that is the only reason I know what it tastes like--buying it by mistake while shopping with my kids....

True, gave up splenda and diet sodas at the beginning of the year and changed NOTHING else and I've lost 6lbs. And I love my REAL half and half.

Really? Interesting. I LOVE coffee with regular sugar and half and half but for the (supposed) sake of my waistline I use Splenda and skim milk. Yes, I've seen a difference but I'm also on Weight Watchers right now so there are lots of other factors going on. (Though from a "points" standpoint, the Splenda and skim milk are certainly a LOT less than the half and half and real sugar...I couldn't afford those.) Sometimes I do wonder if those two Splenda a day are slowly killing me...

I used to be the queen of eating artificial sweets and fats (Snackwells was one of my favorites). Then I gave them up when i was trying to get pregnant, and magically - stomach problems I had for years were severly diminished AND I lost 5 pounds. It was the strangest damn thing. I would have never believed it had someone else told me this would happen. Now I'm a little bitter I spent 20 years eating that crap!

Now I notice if I eat "fake" food I get a headache and stomache within hours. Maybe it depends on the person. But I'd rather have real half and half or slowly wean to lesser fat milk (right now I do skim milk with a dash of my husbands' half and half).

Totally OT but the mention of Snackwells takes me back. I waitressed my way through college. The manager of my restaurant would eat whole bags of Snackwells at a time because he was "dieting." Oh, the 90's. LOL.

HAHA that was me. I remember my mother went on a totally fat free diet and thus so did I (I think I was 16 or so) and I gained nearly 20 pounds eating nothing but fat free foods. luckily I lost it in college, unluckily i gained it back 15 years later after having a baby. hopefully, i'll lose the rest when i wean.

Corn syrup isn't bad for you? I have no idea about the reat of them, since I'm not a chemist (which should tell you something right there), but I definitely try to avoid corn syrup.

OP, a good rule of thumb for eating healthy is the fewer ingredients, the better. Half and half has one. The fat free stuff has at least 10, many of which appear to be synthetic. 'Nuff said.

So that you have the benefit of my wisdom, of course.

OP - I am sooo like you. Love my coffee with LOTS of half and half. I don't look at the ingredients, so go for the fat-free kind whenever possible. I know I should wean myself down to milk or something, but i just haven't been able to do it. no advice, since i'm in the same boat. .. just thanks for posting . i'm enjoying reading all the comments!

Well, no, by definition it has two. It's half cream, half milk. All dairy but still two ingredients.
