| I will vote for Satan himself if God was running as a republican. |
What exactly is missing in the field of Democrats running? It seems like there is someone for every faction of the electorate. The moderate Hogan ally - Franchot. The progressive upstart - John King. The DNC insider, establishment candidate - Perez. The pro-business black guy - Wes Moore. The young rando - Jain. The PG County mainstreamer - Baker. Aside from the fact that there aren't any women as far as I know, it does seem like the Democrats evenly run the gamut in terms of ideology, race, constituency, and geography. Any one of them would be better than a Republican. I do understand that the state of Maryland is not aligned ideologically with Takoma Park, Silver Spring, or Montgomery County. I support Marc Elrich for County Executive, but I could imagine being okay with someone like David Blair for governor. I could get behind a pro-business, run of the mill generic Democrat running statewide, and leave the offbeat lefty hippies for the local elections. |
NP How would you classify Doug Gansler or Jerome Segal? They're the only others that appear to have picked running mates. |
You have an Annapolis insider. A veteran of PG county politics when councilmembers were getting indicted. And then a bunch of incompetents. She absolutely would walk over every one of those candidates. Only Franchot would give her a run for her money due to statewide name recognition. |
| Franchot & his running mate Anderson-Walker look great. Will be happy to donate to them. |
I think the state of Maryland is tired of Franchot style politics. |
What does that even mean? |
Anderson-Walker couldnt go a day after the announcement without semi scandal. She has both tax liens and a foreclosure. At minimum Franchot didnt do his due dilligence. |
So you're saying she could be President? |
|
Schulz was a right-wing Delegate who is now trying to exploit Hogan’s branding. She’s a weak candidate who will probably lose to Trump’s preferred candidate, Dan Cox, in the primary.
The closest candidate to Hogan is Peter Franchot, who is similarly willing to shift positions with the wind. I’m hoping the Democrats nominate Tom Perez. I’m an independent and was never a fan of Perez when he was at the DNC, but he’s the only candidate in either party who seems to care about workers. |
Do you think it’s appropriate for the state Comptroller to use his political connections to request SHA to deny a permit to stop the Takoma Junction development in his neighborhood? Do you think they state Comptroller should be spending his time trying to bully Montgomery County to change liquor laws because he received a lot of contributions from David Trone? |
As a Republican, sure. Seems like she’s in the wrong party. |
The best President. Many people are saying it very strongly. |
I would bet a large sum of money that Schulz crushes Dan Cox. Peter Franchot is nowhere near Hogan politically. Don't let his new turn as a faux fiscal conservative fool you. Hes been a TK liberal for 50+ years. If Tom Perez cares so much about workers, why is labeled a union buster? |
