About 150 kids are BK kids - 1/2 full, 1/2 partial. I don't know the exact numbers but I'd guess 250 + kids are invited to the interview. Keep in mind, if your kid is invited to the interview, kid is already a BK scholar. Interview will determine whether you get full or 1/2. Both categories are called BK Scholar

The email from UMD says only the top 2% of all applicants are invited to interview. I wonder how many EA applicants they had this year.

I've found with other schools that these numbers aren't super accurate...even if it was 30,000, 600 seems like a large number to interview, although I imagine some do turn it down.

My DC - Class of 2023 is a BK full Scholar. This includes Tuition+boarding+book allowance. About 100 students get full scholarship and equal number get partial scholarship.

No, so far just to invite them for interviews. My understanding is that the interview determines whether they'll give you the full or half. (No pressure, though!)
