What to add to guacamole to make it less calorically dense?

This is the only option.

Don’t ruin guac.

No, just eat less of it, and mainly, don't dip chips in guac - adds way too many empty calories.

Peas, according to the NY times. Maybe beans? I find white beans to have a pretty mild flavor. Salsa wouldn't be a neutral flavor but a complementary one. Or just eat less guac!

Why would you do that? Avocado is healthy fat. Just don't overeat.

I would never put peas in guacamole. The benefit of guacamole is that it's low carb, high fiber, and good healthy fats. Peas are carbs and sugar.

Didn't the 80s/90s teach us that replacing the dreaded fats with sugar alcohol isn't actually healthier, even if it means fewer calories?

Didn't take long for the peas are basically candy brigade to show up

This adds zucchini, which actually sounds good to me.

I'm confused. I make guacamole all the time. The only thing in it that is calorically dense is the avocado. If you're worried about the calories, just don't eat it.

Just eat the guac. Some things shouldn't be made "skinny."

I fully admit to switching recently to the prepackaged single packs to stop me from eating too much, but when I make homemade I also make fresh pico salsa and use both as a topping (it helps cut down on the amount of guacamole I use). If it is easier, as others have said, you could just add more tomatoes and onions to the guacamole.

They don't have to be candy to be a stupid thing to add to guacamole. You're taking something high calorie, high fat, but low carb, and erasing the low carb aspect to make it taste worse. This is the Food forum.

Mashed white beans, but not too much.

silken tofu

Peas.

I never add dairy, just avocado, onions and a little tomato. Or just avocados and a little salsa. It tastes fine without dairy.
