| Cauliflower? Spinach? Not yogurt, looking for a non-dairy option please. What else can you add to guac to still hold flavor yet stretch out the calories a bit more? |
|
I chunk it up with chopped tomatoes and onions, because that's how I like it.
If you're looking to cut calories, just eat less of it. Or keep in mind they're good calories. |
|
Since when did guac have dairy? Guac is just mashed avocados, pico, jalapenos (if you want), and lime juice.
All of the calories come from the avocados, so really no way to reduce the calories |
+1 A small amount of guacamole = a treat. A large amount of guacamole with cauliflower in it = a punishment. OP I use guac as a substitute salad dressing on a Southwestern-style salad sometimes - gives you the guacamole taste with each bite and the salad does the work of filling you up. |
| Tomatoes, onions, cilantro. |
"light" guac recipes often include greek yogurt, which is gross. A tasteless filler like whipped cauliflower might be better. |
| Charcoal briquettes, gravel, newspaper pulp. |
Gross. If you want to stretch it out, just add more tomatoes and onions. If you're going to cut calories, just eat less of it. |
| I saw a recipe that had mashed edamame in it. Try that? |
| Just eat less. Please don't do this to yourself or anyone else. |
| Plum tomatoes |
| salsa? |
| Personally I am of the opinion I’d rather have a little of the read deal than do substitutions with any high calorie/high fat/“sometimes” food. That said, guacamole with peas in it was a thing for a while, wasn’t it? Meaning pea puree. Not for me, so can’t comment on taste, but you might look into that OP. |
| Whole Foods used to make a "light" version that had mashed peas in it |
| White beans or mashed peas like pp above said. |
