+1 I hate lint on my butt. |
| Scott is for when you want to punish your junk. Scrapey, weird aroma, breaks. Hope you also have a bidet, because that stuff is not going to do the job. |
| We live in an older house and only use Scott’s. Other brands tend to clog up the sewer pipes. |

We use Scotts. Why the hate? If you don't like it, don't use it!
I'm sure they are dealing with supply chain issues, just like everyone else. Quality is bound to be different for a bit. |
| Scott has become more scratchy since 2020. Also manufacturers have figured out that making TP slightly crinkly means the roll looks the same but has less on it and used up quicker. Definitely seen a change in TP overall since 2020. |

I am always fascinated by people who use Scott. Toilet paper is not the thing I will be cheap about.
Agree with a PP about Quilted Northern. It’s the right balance. Charmin is too much. |
It's not a matter of being cheap, but a matter of being smart about the plumbing of your home. I use Scott because it's what plumbers use. And frankly, I don't know how you people deal with white dust from the thicker TP. On your bits, on your underwear, clothes, etc. |
| We had a plumber in last week to look at our toilet and we asked him about this very question. He was a Scott devotee and said please don’t get that seven ply cushiony stuff. We have a 100+ old house so I guess that makes sense. Isn’t there some middle ground? I can’t abide by Scott. |
I just don’t like lint on my junk. Scott is cleaner. |
| I find Amazon’s Presto and Costco’s Kirkland brands to be the best for softness without clogging our pipes. Scott’s is just too thin and scratchy. |
I used to like Kirkland but found it got thinner and less soft sometime during the pandemic. I’m back to charmin or quilted northern. Scott just tears (like the new Kirkland kind) when I wipe my 2 year old. |

Long ago, poor and bewildered trying to figure out what was the best deal, I picked Scott based on sq feet per roll (not the ultra, the classic version) and have stuck to it ever since. Plus house is 110 years old so learning about Scott and pipes it made even more sense.
DS hated it growing up but now is what he buys, I was impressed when I visited his first apt and there it was. It's always fun to see the Scott vs cushiony TP debate arise here though. |

I grew up with really nice soft pink toilet paper in France (that my parents still use), then experienced sandpaper toilet paper at a British boarding school (of course), and now in the DC area I buy Northern Quilted Ultra Plush. There is a technique to leaving no residue

I’m a real estate agent who owns half a dozen rental properties so I have many more conversations with plumbers than the average person. Cottonnelle is that middle ground, so that’s all we use. I had a rough delivery with my first baby and am still not quite 100% right down there, I cannot tolerate Scott. And Charmin clogs like a mofo, we had to buy some at one point when it was the only thing we could find. |

Charmin blue.
The red irritated me like crazy and it took a few years to figure this out. |
