I have always purchased Scott toilet paper for it’s incredible value.
Probably for the past twenty-five yrs. It has always been relatively soft however the last pack I bought I noticed a huge difference in the texture. It now feels more rough to the touch > kind of more of a paper feel. Similar to a generic brand.®️ Have any of you noticed this as well? |
| We are a Scott’s household because my wife doesn’t like the super soft quilted northern-type tp because it tends to leave more “residue” down there. For my part, I haven’t noticed anything odd about the recent Scott’s rolls. |
| Scott has always felt like tissue paper. Can’t imagine it could feel any worse. |
| I thought Scott’s toilet paper was for if you are practicing for prison. |
| Yes. I've actually noticed this with Charmin too. The "ultra soft" really isn't so soft. I wonder if the pandemic demand caused them all to cut corners. |
| Quilted Northern all the way. It’s the right balance, with Charmin being over the top the other way. |
| Don’t really care, will stick with Scott to protect our pipes. |
| Haven't really noticed. We only buy Scott to (1) protect the pipes and never deal with a clogged toilet, and (2) no TP lint. I don't know how you 7-ply weirdos overlook the white lint from the towely stuff. |
| I’ve noticed everything I buy is either poorer quality or in smaller packaging/quantity. It’s like we like in Europe now without the free healthcare. |
| We've been ordering Tork online. Better than Scott, good for pipes/septic, doesn't leave residue "down there", and comes in a big cardboard box and not plastic wrap. Cheap, too. |

I bought a 30-pack of Scott at Costco at the height of the TP shortages in 2020. Thankfully, never had to crack into it - we were able to find our preferred brand before we ran out. It remained unopened in the basement, and I fully intend to leave it as a present for the new residents when we sell the house in 20 years or so.
Life's to short for crappy booze, or TP. |
| Scott is the brand I was raised on, so I've continued using it into adulthood. I briefly switched to Northern at one point, but found that clogs were more frequent, so I switched back. The quilted softness of Northern is also the drawback IMO. |

I prefer the non-linty, reduced-clog chance of Scott to those poofy, linty, overpriced rolls (esp with old pipes in a 100+ year old house!). Haven't noticed a change in the quality of the paper.

i discovered Scott toilet paper during the pandemic and now I am a total devotee. It. Lasts. So. Long!!! I can buy a twelve pack and I don't have to think about buying toilet paper (or, let's face it, hauling it home from the store) for months!
It also fits into the wall-alcove TP holder in my elderly bathroom. I have not noticed that the paper is different. I don't notice a huge difference between Scott and "softer" brands (although my does complain). I grew up with "hard" toilet paper, though ... |
| I used Scott in my early 20s and a poor grad student. That was enough. |
