| Can i just say you people are rich, yikes. I'm happy to just have one vacation someplace. |
+1 Thinking about Spain in September and maybe a trip home around Thanksgiving/Christmas to Washington state but will book a few months in advance for each to see how things play out. If a variant as dangerous as delta is around, will probably stay home since spouse is immune compromised. Fingers crossed variants after omicron are mild and hopefully less contagious. |
Have you ever been to Lake George? Do you have any recommendations? We are staying at the Sagamore but I've never been. Thanks! |

Some of the PPs have a lot of travel!
We were thinking of Florida spring break but I’m so behind on work and my teen is so behind on AP prep that I’m thinking of cancelling and maybe just do a couple night camping someplace. June — weekend trip to NYC July— Aruba, thinking of cancelling August — SW national parks, Vegas., etc., planned to coordinate with a family event out west I’m just not feeling the travel this year. Our winter trip was so exhausting with cancelled flights and covid protocols, I feel like I’m massively behind on everything, I’m still upset about the many hours I spent planning great trips for 2020 that were cancelled and feel like I just can’t invest that much emotionally again….I think I have the post-Christmas crankies. |

April - Driving trip for spring break. Need to figure out where.
June - Weekend in Lancaster. August - Beach house somewhere for a week. Maybe OBX if I can still get a good rental. October - couples weekend away at b&b in the Shenandoah I have 2 unvaccinated little ones so we are just planning driving trips and things where it’s easy to social distance and easy to cancel if needed. |

January - skiing in Colorado with partner
February- long weekend in Florida with teenage kids April - long weekend in Nashville with sister June - few days in NYC July - maybe a trip to Norway? Behind in planning for that. August - visit family in Chicago November- NYC December - Hawaii Plus a couple work trips - one to Boston and one to San Diego. |
| We don't really have anything planned except Disney/ various other Orlando parks. My kids are excited about the Peppa Pig park at Legoland. Their passports expire this month, and I'm not even bothering to renew, since I don't want to do international travel until we can do it without COVID testing both ways. It's just too much of a risk that the trip will get cancelled at the last minute, or we'll get stuck overseas. I don't know how anyone can do that, especially with little kids. |
| Taking early retirement in the summer, and planning to spend Sept-October in Portugal in Spain. Preparation for possibly moving there permanently in a year or so. |
| Skiing in February, Disney in the spring, Europe and Atlantic beach trips this summer. |
Personally I’m doing it over the summer so if we do get stuck, we aren’t at risk of missing school. Unfortunately I don’t think the travel testing will change any time soon, and I’m not willing to give up international travel with my children while they are still young in order to wait it out. |

Something driving distance Prez Day weekend, maybe weekend in NY or Philly, Covid-permitting Spring break cabin in Shenandoah for 5 days Summer vacation TBD. If we move to Colorado (from VA) our summer vacation will be a long, scenic cross-country trip to get out there. I’m f we don’t move, something domestic. Early December Disney World/Universal |
Hi! Yes, I've been to Lake George my entire life. I've never stayed at the sagamore but have seen it in a boat. It looks nice. I usually stay on campus at Silver bay. If you have kids, you can try to get them into day camp from 8-11 am Monday-Friday in the summer. They take kids 8 weeks + but I know it was more limited last year with covid and they didn't have summer camp in 2020. I think its roughly $50 a kid per week but might be more if not staying on campus. I LOVE it as it gives me a little break and they have fun. You have to check out the windchill factory for frozen custard- the best!! I mostly know trails on the property but Jabe's pond is wonderful!! We like to swim in the pond a little; it's so clear and makes for a wonderful picnic. Be careful if you kayak, try to stay near land as the water can get really choppy otherwise but it's really pretty kayaking! You can also get a day pass to silver bay if you want to visit and partake in activities. Tons to do and sometimes there's concerts too. Our favorite things are: swimming including an early morning "polar bear swim", hiking, afternoon at slim point, and my husband enjoys making stain glass. I love hanging at the boathouse on a rocking chair reading a good book overlooking the water! There's a non-denominational chapel service led by Bruce- he's a psychologist and chaplain; lovely person! Have fun! |
