There’s money of all kinds. See for example Sandy Lerner, Sheila Johnson, the St Bride’s Farm people, etc etc etc. |
I actually think Middleburg is a great option. Or downtown Leesburg. |
OP again. We saw a home a long time ago in Melmore, a Middleburg neighborhood. Lots were spacious but manageable, I definitely want neighbors and this neighborhood was pretty much perfect. Seems like the homes aren’t available often. |
Linda Tripp lived in Middleburg after the Monica thing. |
She used to work in the Christmas store. |
She owned the Christmas Sleigh |
It seemed boring after an hour. |
Out of curiosity, what public school(s) do children who live in the downtown area attend? I'm guessing most go private but surely some don't. |
I would look in Warrenton, Va. |
You need to go further out of DC for this, Middleburg is just the start. But really, until you get to I-81, you will be limited to suburbs or horse farms. Winchester, Staunton, and Lexington along the I-81 corridor are your best bet for a "charming downtown." Berryville is quaint but small compared to the others, and no college to round out the inhabitants. If you don't need mountains, have you considered Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania ("Spotsy")? |
The public is local. Middle and high school are in Purcellville, about a half hour away. Imaging having after school activities. |
I was just there yesterday and have no idea where you are getting tbis. Americana used to be in Old Town. Fine antiques. Brick and Mortar across the street is hilarious and irreverent. Several high-end clothing stores. The banks on the main drag are private wealth banks. Cute ice cream store. Neat nursery. Tack Shops. A brewery and a distillery. It’s not a lot, but it’s hardly run down. |
Just drove through as well. Lively and upscale and very cute. |
Catonsville is cute. |
I live in Warrenton. It has a cute old town vibe. Holiday parades, cute stores, restaurants. Houses range in price. Just be sure they have high speed internet. They are working on getting it everywhere |
