Does Alabama reject anyone?

You can pay instate if you want to do Biomedical Engineering, which is not offered in Maryland.

How many selective MCPS students applied according to Bethesda Magazine? 3?

26, more than Gettysburg or Harvey Mudd. You might want to learn Google, or simple Math.

*sigh. Yes they did. I hate Alabama so much. DH went to Georgia. I went to Ole Miss. The hatred runs deep. I'm hoping for a HUGE Georgia win this afternoon. GO DAWGS!

Auburn used to be easy until it became popular as a safety in recent years. Now they’re rejecting kids with 4.0s.

I predict Alabama is using the same playbook. Tons of kids from our area are applying, and many have opted to go after visiting. I bet it will become increasingly more difficult to get into in the coming years—like Auburn.

It has instant name recognition and a massive alumnae network.

Not to mention generous merit aid.

No. As long as your heart is beating. Who asks about Bama seriously?!?!

You are so out of touch.

A Bama senior was just named a Rhodes Scholar last week, and Bama (like auburn) is recruiting heavily along the northeast corridor in an effort to increase test scores and its overall ranking. Get in while you can; it will become increasingly more competitive in the next few years—like Auburn (turning away 4.0s).

Apparently, the 38,320 students currently attending. Also, the ~17% of students who aren't admitted might beg to differ about the beating heart comment.

Take a minute to read over that link. Some impressive students attend UA.

some of you don't have to be such a-holes. some kids like alabama and it is a great fit for them and they have a great experience. they also have a couple of super hard to get into and great programs for very high achieving kids. they also have great results with medical school admissions.

the campus is nice, the people are nice and the weather is nice.

i know many, many grads who are doing quite well!

DP. You don’t sound like a very kind person. At all. I really hope your children aren’t like you.
